Hi, newbie here.
I was playing a European online blackjack site and it has an unusual element (possibly an error) where blackjacks are paid out at at 3 to 2 when the player has a blackjack, even if the dealer is showing an ace or a ten/picture.
I have checked the wizard site for the various edge odds calculations, but (not surprisingly) this variable is not covered.
My gut feeling is that it is a massive edge for the player, but could someone put a number on it?

If I am figuring this out right, and assuming "infinite decks", the probability of both the player and the dealer having blackjacks is (8 / 169)2 = 64 / 28561. Since the payout changes from the normal 0 to +1.5, the player edge is 1.5 x 64 / 28561, or about 0.33612%.

In there, it says a blackjack tie playing 3:2 is worth +.32%

In the Euro game I play BJ Tie is a push, not a lose. Is that why Don sees a player edge where that quoted table (in the post above) only shows a diminished HE of 0.32%

Curious how much more valuable it might be to a counter. Nothing worse than a max bet tie on a blackjack.

No - if BJ Tie is a push, then the edge is zero. The difference is caused by the fact that the Wizard's number is based on a fixed number of decks, and not the "infinite decks" that I used.
