I know that in most casinos, dealer peeks at down card when an Ace is showing, but how common is the option 'Dealer peeks on 10'(when the up cards is ten)? I've heard that this option is becoming more common but I have no idea how common it is. How will this rule affect card counting decisions? I am now using Hi-Lo counting.

The dealer always peeks on a 10, assuming it's not European blackjack with no down card at all.

When an ace is showing, the dealer offers insurance, then checks. When a ten is showing, no insurance, but still check.

The reason is simple: to play out the hands when he has BJ is a waste of time, and exposes cards that can help a counter.

Note that this is NOT a new practice.

Depends what happens when dealer has an Ace under.

Do you lose all bets? Only original bet? What if you bust on a split hand (i.e.: 8,8vsT, split, draw 6 then 9 for a bust [23])?

Oh
but I remember that if early surrender against 10 is allowed as in some casinos,
then dealer will not peek on 10, or am I mistaken?

Just checked sth in the CVBJ program, that it does not allow me to enable both 'Early surrender against 10' and 'Dealer peeks on 10' options!

I've only played with early surrender online, but my gut says that if early surrender is allowed, everyone is given the option to surrender or not, then dealer peeks, then play continues starting at first base.

lol I'm very confused because I've never played a game with early surrender, but the CVBJ program really forbid me to tick both 'Early surrender against 10' and 'Dealer peeks on 10' options, but I have no idea if this is a bug or what.

My guess is this is mostly due to the fact that Early Surrender games (at least the ones I've heard of) only exist with ENHC. Thus, for all practicality, you'll really never find both options. If you do, happy to you and you can easily still find the house edge by using the Wizards blackjack extended rule variations: https://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/rule-variations/

Early Surrender against 10: +.24% for the player
Playing it correctly means you've already won.
