Yesterday I saw what looked like a new game at the Stratosphere called Double Twist Blackjack. When I got closer and investigated it turned out to be just blackjack with a side bet. In my opinion, just taking on a side bet to a common-domain game does not make it a new game.
Nevertheless, I analyzed it and wrote up my analysis. Please click the link and let me know what you think. I welcome all comments, questions, and especially corrections.
The question for the poll, is would you make this side bet, assuming you were playing blackjack anyway? Multiple votes are allowed this time.

The pay table is a little different.

Side bets are the devil. I voted no.
But I am impressed that the house edge isn't as bad as most of them. I still voted no.
I could see the side-bet crazy degenerates here in Detroit loving this...

So it's 21+3 but the paytable actually pays you for the better hands instead of the generic 9-1 if you hit a 3 card royal in 21+3. This even pays all the way down to 1 pair. So while it's just a side bet similar to 21+3, I think it's at least way better than 21+3 because of the more hit opportunities and different structured payouts.
I, of course, would still not play it though =P.
edit - As hard as I wanted to also check "I guarantee there will be a safety in SB 50" I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I did get a good lol though.

Playing it correctly means you've already won.

It's patented for allowing playing two hands of blackjack (patent number is on the layout.) It's hard to believe.
The inventor is John Feota, a game design veteran. Just Google it:

The 21+3 patent is expired, but a clone patent of an expired patent is unenforceable. Keep in mind that the USPTO does not perform the prior art cross-check work that patent submitters are required to do. Rich or Jon can/should chime in.

There are a couple of variants on the basic 21+3 around in the UK - Top 3 and Progressive ( http://www.ukcasinotablegames.info/blackjack.html ) and this seems a cross between 21+3 and the Pairs+ in 3CP (albeit with a slightly altered odds and making the obvious addition of suited trips for multiple decks). I don't play 21+3 and with a relatively good hit rate would slow the game down too much, if people want higher odds then (in the UK) they usually already have the Top 3 bet.
