This kid Sodapoppin is betting big on Blackjack via live stream video chat with the dealer Andy. I could not look away.
You can see both him and the dealer and hear them both talking back and fourth.
Andy is certainly a dealer I would like to play with, if I was playing for fun. I would defiantly hire this guy Andy if I had a casino.
This kid has a number of BJ live streaming videos. This is a perfect example of how not to play Blackjack. You can also see other people making significant BJ mistakes.
In some of his BJ videos, he bets as much as 5k a hand. Oops, its his last 5k, Of course he is going to get a double down?
Warning:
Many of you guys will find this kid very annoying, loud and obnoxious, you may want to punch the hell out of him. He is very emotional as well. You may call him idiot. He seems to have a following on his other you-tube videos where he is talking about nonsense, however he seems to be having fun and perhaps he makes good money from YouTube doing what he enjoys. BTW he seems to tip the dealers well.

that stream does not interest me at all. Putting up with that behavior is annoying enough inside a live casino.
Yes I added a warning. However some people like watching people play BJ. . I normally don't care to watch random people playing BJ, I have seen and played enough. For some reason I watched this guy.Quote: Avincowthat stream does not interest me at all. Putting up with that behavior is annoying enough inside a live casino.

I see enough at work. I've seen shortened clips of his stream, particularly when he blows up after a loss. Honestly, it's just an act. Streamers gain much more in donations than they'll lose in any sort of betting scenario.
All for the drama and showmanship.
Quote: AxelWolfWhile I was reading the thread, I've had it!. JSTAT posted a video mocking teliot (meaningless video) ....
I need to correct this statement somewhat. JSTAT did not post that video link here; teliot posted it himself to prove that JSTAT has attacked him in the past. Had JSTAT posted it, I would have to consider it a personal insult, but he didn't. I personally found it meaningless (FWIW), and their war via other media is mostly not relevant to this board. But I do understand that teliot is vigorously contesting the validity of the advice JSTAT gave, and I appreciate the discussion as instructive.
I was wondering who first posted the video. I thought that may be the situation, but I was to lazy to look at the beginning of the thread. JSTAT posted some video I assumed it was the same one and it was the first to be posted. I looked at JSTAT'S video and now see my mistake. Sorry for the mistake.Quote: beachbumbabsI need to correct this statement somewhat. JSTAT did not post that video link here; teliot posted it himself to prove that JSTAT has attacked him in the past. Is it just me, or do all the people who have crazy ideas and betting systems all have the same type of voice and seem a bit off?
I'm dead serious.
If you took 10 random guys that have legitimate sound mathematical blackjack methods, and 10 guys who just have crazy betting systems. Let me talk to each one of them without revealing their methods, theories or system. I bet i could guess a high percentage of the guys who have bunk systems.
Quote: teddysWhat is a streamer? Why are people giving him money? This whole thing is new to me.
Here is a nice, brief, recent article that addresses some of your questions. I don't do the whole streaming thing, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand it as follows:
Streams and streamers are part of the new age of media and entertainment. Most streams are small, independent, user-created video channels. However, depending on the content and streamer, some streams can take off and grow in popularity. Due to the nature of the medium, there is the potential for a lot of live interaction between the streamer and the viewers. Viewers pay, by necessity or choice, to support or influence the stream.
Quote: teddysWhat is a streamer? Why are people giving him money? This whole thing is new to me.
Streaming is a term for an activity that someone does while providing a live video feed of them and their activity. It's most commonly used for online video games, where highly skilled of very personable showmanship people play a game and interact with people watching them. Streamers usually have a fan base and a following. They'll have people "subscribe" to their channel for a few bucks a month, or have people donate money so they can continue to stream on a regular basis.
Essentially, people play video games, let others watch, and make a living off of it. It can be very profitable if you're able to get a following. See twitch.tv for an example of a streaming website.

I guess technically, quite a few porn cams have been streamers.
You want to see someone play a video game naked, you can now. Or is that naked and playing a video game?

Streaming is not just limited to video games and porn -- there are people in Korea that will pay to watch people eat!

Really charming, especially when she chews
with her mouth open and talks with food in
her mouth. She does this every night? Oh boy.

North Korea?

Sadly, that was funny. No, the video I saw was about South Korea.
Another crazy bit of trivia; the guys on the space shuttle can always pick out North Korea at night because it's a sea of blackness, border to border, among the lights of all the other Pacific Rim countries. The people there must be absolutely miserable.

Nope. They're left in the dark /rimshot
But really. Saw a doc on the life and it's propaganda brainwash city there. They pump government "news" through light poles in cities, restrict media, restrict contact, restrict reporting... all the news is about how great that fat child is (Lil' Kim? I forget)... it's totally bizarre. I wonder how many actually know if they're miserable or not.

Where does an idiot kid like that get
5 grand to bet on one hand.

Wow, so in other words you pay people to play the games you otherwise really like ? So you don't play them yourself, no you let them play by someone else ?
What's next ? You don't have sex anymore, you pay others to do it ?
Edit: Just read the second page of this thread.... it's more hilarious then I would have ever thought ...

so instead of playing video games, this kid plays BJ and let other people watch.
but where did he get his money? is it his own money or he is getting a sponsor? if he is betting 5k a hand, then it sounds a bit funny that he would go through the trouble of doing this steaming business to get a few thousand dollars a month.

Donations primarily. They'll stream games for 8-24 hours a day, depending on the person, and their desired schedule. Successful streamers can make a thousand or so a day, depending on viewership.
Edit:
For example, here's a picture of a female streamer who had $7,000 donated to her.

I've seen a series by this guy who makes a "Kill Everything" run and a "No Kill" run of Fallout 3 and New Vegas which was fun to watch. Also some guy who only uses the knife in Call of Duty which is pretty damn talented against other players on multiplayer.

Why are the hot ones crazy?
Is his latest video, they declined his action after he won a bunch of $1K max bets.

Hot vs. Crazy scale... supply and demand. Economics 101 =).

Exactly!
Quote: gordonm888Maybe clothing-optional blackjack could catch on as a streaming channel. Based on what I have seen, most players at the casino tables might actually get paid by the audience to put their clothes back on.
Ratholing chips would require some creativity. I hope I can get that image out of my mind. :-)

No way, he probably makes a fair amount on all his stuff. He's got tons of followers .I seen somewhere someone gave him like 30k.Quote: drjohnny$19K loss in his latest vid... I give him a couple more months at most before he totally self-destructs and has to file for bankruptcy.
I couldn't figure out exactly what this kid makes, but I believe it's more than enough.
