If you are up a decent amount using only basic strategy, approximately how much are you up and how long have you been playing?

For your first post that's quite a personal question. Have we met before?
Edit: I just noticed you asked about basic strategy because the "using only basic strategy" part of your question can't be viewed until you click on the thread title. Anyway, why not just ask if lifetime blackjack players' are up? I can't answer your question because I count.
The truth is, if you find any lifetime blackjack players that are up using only basic strategy that would be very very rare. Unless they've only been playing for a relatively short time.

A few months back, a member calling himself SiegfreidRoy started a thread entitled "Went for it". Although he deleted his first post, the rest of the thread is intact. In it he tells us that he turned $2K into $1 million without counting and discusses how he did it. Then he stopped posting.

And wizard did verify that his net win was $1M on his mLife account, iirc. That was one hell of a story.

I thought Secret was white in color, came in a pastel package, and was for external use only.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I did record my play for 1 year some time back and was surprise I was just below break even level.
Maths don't match. But my guess is it may be because you can stop playing when the dealer has a run of good hands.
But if the dealer has a run of bad hands he still has to deal the cards and you can raise your bet.
That is my theory anyway.

Not the greatest of theories. The cards don't care about runs. They don't know how many people will be at the table, leave the table, who will hit on 16 and who won't. They just come out.
You beat the math by a little over a short term. It happens.

Well its all based on hands played. Any random person can run $1000 into $1mil if they press their bets even on roulette, but play a large number of hands and you lose close to expected loss.
That's why if people come out to gamble they should have the bust or broke mentality, because grinding out a win on an -EV game is just not going to happen.

Once playing blackjack, I used a blackjack pays 2:1 coupon with my friend's name on it while playing under his player's card (with his complicity). And my deepest darkest secret is that I wasn't bothered by it. Well, a little tinge.
