The strategy listed on wizardofodds.com for a pair of sevens against dealer 10 in single-deck is not intuitive to me. BS says that I should STAND with 7,7 against dealer 10 when SURRENDER is not available. Since I can't SURRENDER, the strategy says to STAND. Why would I STAND and not HIT since this is really a hard-14 against a 10? Is this because I am holding two sevens out of the deck (i.e. composition-dependency)? Thanks.

Yes!
