Hi all. I am new to Blackjack, just playing for about a year with basic strategy. About 6 months ago I start learn to count, first Hi-lo for 6D shoe games then Zen for DD or SD (pays 6:5). But now I want to learn AO2 because switching to count 9 in AO2 instead of A in Zen is no problem. The big problem is how to side count Aces in AO2. Please share your experience when doing the side count. Any and all ideas are appreciated.
Best cards.

Idea: Don't try to beat 6:5 games by counting
Idea #2: Don't use a count that requires an ace side count.
Play your 3:2 shoe game, bet accurately, get the money. Keep it simple.

I agree with Axiom. It take a lot more than an ace side count to beat 6:5 BJ. It takes a huge spread.
I am a 'keep it simple' guys as well, but if you are going to use an ace side count, for single (hopefully 3:2) or doubledeck BJ, the ace side count acts as a high card for betting purposes and is added to the primary count, but acts as a low card for playing decisions, some decisions specifically more than others. You probably already know that. So, I am not quite sure what you are asking? are you asking about counting 'techniques'? Like using chips or your foot for the side count? Don't use chips, as that is technically using a devise, which is against the law in most places, although unlikely anyone would pursue that.
BTW, if you are currently using Zen, one of the benefits of Zen is that it is a compromise count (ace value), which makes it ideal for players who play a lot of both shoe and hand held games. If you are not playing high stakes, or playing a great deal, I would just stick with Zen for all your play.

Yes, I want to know what the best way/'techniques' to side count A, or any side count. I tried count A in SD by place my tongue at different positions in the mouth. It works with 4 Aces but I can not talk as doing cover and can not count more then 4 Aces. I will mostly play DD as I understand that AO2 has better PE than Zen, even without ASC it overall score is equal to Zen. If I master the ASC it will be winner, is it? Thanks for all your advices

I used to use the Uston Advanced Point Count. I kept a side count of aces on my feet. I would start with the left foot:
1 weight on toe
2 weight on left side
3 weight on heel
4 weight on right side
5 weight on heel with toes pointing left
6 weight on heel with toes pointing right
7 weight on toes with heel pointing left
8 weight on toes with heel pointing right
Repeat on right foot for four decks.

I am concerned about Thick21 (sounds like a porn name) biting his tongue and HughJass (also could be a porn name...lol) twisting an ankle. Lol.
Actually foot position is a common method of side counting. I don't use anything physical like that. I only side count DD games so there are only 8 aces to deal with and I don't really count them, I just sort of know how many have been played. But really whatever works for you I guess is fine.
