Is that how other casinos do it?
Quote: ScanBlackjack Switch began at Revel AC last week. The player must pay a $1 comission upfront for every $5 bet.

My understanding is that it is not Blackjack Switch but a game with a similar sounding name and different rules. We have a couple of guys checking on it.
Also: A 20% commission?!
Quote: WizardI'd be very interested in a verification of this.
I spoke to a floor person about this and they said that for the first week it was out there, the 20% ante was payable only if you wanted the option to switch to the two unknown cards. If you wanted to play a straight blackjack game, you could. Finally, someone realized they were offering a 6D, S17, DAS, DOA, 3:2BJ at a $10 minimum and quickly made the 20% fee mandatory!
Only the management at Revel would not realize this for a week. They certainly deserve their upcoming bonuses lol
In Switch, you don't have unknown cards. In ZapIt, 15, 16, 17 can be swapped out for two new cards (once). I'm guessing they're taking a commission instead of push-22, which neatly avoids Hall's patent?

What's wrong with that? A casino near me offers that game at $5 minimums and makes tons of money.

Sure, but I bet your casino doesn't have those fancy escalators :) 20% commission is just crazy!

These games in AC are normally 8D and H17
Quote: djatcDo you get an apple pie for every blackjack? Of course you don't get paid 3:2 and an apple pie, you just win an apple pie.
Yes, but the main bet pushes, unless it's a dealer BJ too. Then you get a quiche.

Its not knock of by any means but i wonder Paradaigms thoughts on this game considering its similar concept to mulligan 21...
M21 allows you to replace a face card hit at any time, once per hand. You can't switch out your original two cards.
The Push 22 rule only costs the players around 7% in Zap It as I recall, much less than the 20% indicated by the $1 Ante (which I assume is collected on the switch to the new hand).
Quote: ParadigmI agree with Venthus, the new game at Revel is more like Zap It than Mulligan 21.

THANK YOU for the game explanation. Just to clarify, is it M21, or are you just using it as a point of comparison? ...or did their legal team go on vacation and t's actually called BJ Switch like earlier posts indicate?
Edit: Okay, disregard this; seems like a misunderstanding.
Quote: ParadigmMulligan 21 has nothing to do with the game at Revel, I was responding to MrSuit's request for comment on how the Revel game compared to "Lucky" & my game, Mulligan 21.
Ah, thought his comment was a sort of weird joke about the game only being worth a cereal bowl.
