I saw these Friends scenes where Joey tries (and fails miserably) to learn French. Come to think of it what he did - talk in speech that sounds like another real language but isn't (which you've shared with your teammates) - may be a clever way for card-counters to communicate with one another while playing blackjack and avoid getting caught (since that will thwart the casino staff, even those that know the language you're trying to imitate, from knowing what you're saying). (And "numbers" like those Joey "created" could be used to remind a fellow who lost track of the count what it is!)

Teams should have an established system in place that doesn't draw attention to them, like speaking a fake language would. Counters not on the same team tend to avoid each other.

Yes, it may be humorous but its about as humorous as waving a red flag while in a bull ring. You want to be invisible and if you can't be invisible you want to be unremarkable, sort of plain vanilla player rather than a memorable one who is noticed or whose winnings are noticed in any way. Floor persons are not fools. Many poker rooms are strictly enforcing their English only policies so if you start jabbering at a blackjack table you will stand out ... and for a counter that is what they most want to avoid. Even South Point which backed off three men who were playing red chips backed them off because the same three men had been noticed on prior occasions and the Pit Boss said these three are too greedy.

The few casinos I've been in have an English only rule at the tables.

At Foxwoods one of the rules written on each Pai Gow table is "No talking while setting hands" however I have never seen it enforced. A few Chinese nationals were playing this past Monday and were talking while setting their hands, although I don't believe they were relaying information about their tiles.
