Found out the promotional chips the winner receives are not limited to even money wagers!
Quote: IbeatyouracesAre they still "play till you lose" chips? If so, you still want to grind them out at good blackjack game.
Yes good til you lose (no surrender in BJ though with them)
You can play player and bank at same time in baccarat too and be guaranteed thr 250k minus commission)

I wouldn't play BJ but I would absolutely grind the player/banker option and be on the hook for the comms. You don't want any variance to get you in any way, shape or form :)

Yeah minimum bet with them is 500
Quote: IbeatyouracesBJ has been shown to be the best play. You want each chip to be used as much as possible. Playing both bets in baccarat guarantees that one chip will be a loser each and every time. Sure the other one wins and stays in play, but seems like such a waste.
But it is guaranteed 250k minus any commish -- that is enticing

ace, it's your money as soon as you win it....but you do pretty well at BJ; even if you lost 10 or 25 % of the chips (had a "losing" day) that would still be more than losing 50% of them for sure....just my random thought.

Babs, you don't lose 50% you lose at most the 5% vig, that's it.
If you have a losing day at BJ you could use the entire $250k.
The point of playing baccarat is that you want to recycle the $250k with as little exposure as possible. You DON'T want to gamble.......
Just my opinion of course. If you guys had the chance at $250k, would you rather want to keep as much of it as possible or "roll the dice" by playing a game with variance?

Even if you are an amazing AP at blackjack, variance can strike at the worst time

Tomspur,
In this particular case, he loses 1/2 of his "play til you lose" chips every time. He gets real chips back for his win, but he limits the value of his 500K in promo chips to 250K less 1/2 the 5% vig if it turns out exactly 1/2 player 1/2 banker losses. So he's pricing the value of his chips at about 247.5K. Not a bad day's work, to be sure, but not gambling - just grinding a mechanical cashout. I think he can do better, but there's more risk in playing them out at BJ.

Babs,
I was not aware that the first prize was $500k however if you do get paid $500k in win till you lose chips, doesn't it stand to reason that you will not recycle down to $250k but rather to $500k - (at worst) your 5% vig? If you bet $500 a piece for 500 hands you would collect at the VERY least $487,500.
If you only collected $250k in prize money, you would collect AT THE VERY LEAST $237,500.
How could you GUARANTEE a better return on another game?
Quote: IbeatyouracesChip value:
BJ: 3:2, S17, DOA, DAS, NoLS, RSA = 99.15%
Baccarat Bank 5% commission = 97.63%
Baccarat Player = 97.31%
Bank HA is 1.06%
Player HA is 1.24%
I was wondering how you could guarantee 99.15% after playing 500 hands of Blackjack?
Quote: IbeatyouracesOf course they don't. You're saving the casino a lot of money playing them that way.
Some Indian casinos won't allow people to make Player/Banker or Pass/Don't Pass bets with promo chips. I agree that it's stupid on their part, but that's what I've seen.

Huh?
You seem to be giving the cash that he gets from win a value of 0.
Suppose you have 10 promo chips (worth $5000). You bet player and banker every time. Suppose that the results alternate between player and banker. So on the player wins you lose a chip and gain real cash, and on the banker wins you lose a chip, gain real cash, and owe 5% commission.
After hands (player, banker, player, banker....) You have won 5 players (+$2500 cash) and 4 bankers ($2000 cash - $100 commission - $1900 cash) and you have a $500 chip left over. So you have $4400 cash and a $500 chip -- you've turned $4500 in promo chips into $4400 in cash. Clearly this is not a 50% loss.
The absolute worst case with this strategy is that every hand results in a banker win (so you have to pay the commission every time) so you have lost 9 chips but won $4500 - 5% = $4275 -- you have turned $4500 in chips into $4275 in cash.
Similarly, with $500k, your worst case would be all bankers = $500k - 5% = $475k in cash (ignoring the "odd chip" problem) and the best case would all players = $500k. Nothing is being cut in half here -- you will end up with somewhere between $475k and $500k depending on how many bankers and players there are.

Protest enough and maybe they let the whole table advance or play the round over?
I wouldn't suggest that you ask for anything specific and, certainly, don't make any threats about never coming back or anything like that. I'd ask to speak to your host privately, and lead off with saying something like "I'm really upset about the way that this happened and someone suggested that I should talk to you about it".

This is so unfair to me. You just got started and it's
over? Thanks Ace, thanks a lot. We're having an ice
storm and now I have to listen to the police scanner
for accident calls and get my schaden that way..

Well, yeah. The last hand of the final round maybe. I
turn on my computer and it's over already. Are you
going to where Mission is eating the nuggets?
Quote: PerditionWhat does the Wild Card drawing entail? Do you get a chance to get back into the main bracket or is it like a "Loser's Bracket" and they play for a lesser prize?

My only chance at creating schadenfreude for you Bob is to get my ass back into the bracket via a wild card

Exactly. I don't wish for bad things to happen,
schaden is a 'better you than me' thing. Like
listening to the scanner in an ice storm, better
them than me going off into the median on the
freeway.
