On their best game, grind it out at table minimum.
Table minimum? Wow - I would think that might take forever lol
WIZARD what would you do with $250k in promotional chips?
Quote: IbeatyouracesYou shouldn't have to do it all in one night.
I don't put anything out of the realm of possibility...
Quote: EvenBobLol, you're right, I got a jolt of schaden just reading
that. It sucks, it's the same as getting slot points on
a player card. You only get to keep what's left after
the machines slaughter you.
If he doesn't like non-negotiable chips, I'll be in Vegas same time he is, and my birthday is shortly after...just sayin'.
Quote: IbeatyouracesWorry about winning first ;-)
Here's one, what if he starts counting? I understand the non-negotiable chips probably come with some caveat about, "No cash value," but you would think all they could ask him to do is play a different game, right?
How long would it take (on average) to go through $250k in promotion chips at $1 BJ table only playing the minimum $1 and only one spot at a full table? :)

Okay, so fifty-two hands per hour...
250000/52 = 4807.69231 hours = 4807.69231/24 = 200.32051 days.
Of course, the promo chips play until they lose, which Wizard gives a probability of .4910
https://wizardofodds.com/ask-the-wizard/blackjack/probability/
Which would make the other .5090 a win or push which would continue the chip, so:
(250000 * 1.5090)/52 = 7254.807692307692 hours = 7254.807692307692/24 = 302.28365384615386 days.
So, call it around 300 days, playing 24/7, adjust for how many hours the person spends playing daily.
Thanks Mission.
Quote: EdgeLooker$1 and $10 would be out of the question, probably $100 as well. $1k a hand for 7.25 hours could be the way to go.
Thanks Mission.
Yeah I agree. I doubt they are going to have 25000 $10 promo chips. Even 250 $1k chips are a lot. I wonder if they put them in an account and you could pull from them like a marker.

That's 2 1/2 racks of $1000 promo chips; they just hand you the little acrylic racks when they award prizes at a tournament, filled with stacks, and you carry them to the table. I've seen them (other casinos paying a tournament winner) do it before with blacks at $10K/rack. I doubt they have an expiration date, either, though I don't know if they'll let you take them out of the casino for a future play.

No problem! $100 might be possible, but it'd have to be a slow divorce year in 2014!
Quote: aceofspadesWhat about table max $50k?
I wouldn't, unless the 250K is meaningless to you. For that kind of money, I'd simply want to get as close to the EV as possible, which means grinding it out at the smallest levels tolerable.
I mean, you could go 50K for HUGE Variance, but how many times have you lost five hands in a row, Ace?
Yeah, I'd definitely be happy just trying to grind it and get close to the EV. That's also a common loss rebate strategy with Free Play, assuming one has lost already.

I want to get as close to EV as possible but, I am not sure if there is an expiration date on the chips if I win

It's hard to say, you might shoot an E-Mail to your host to inquire as to EXP dates and the denomination of winning non-negotiable chips. If they could all come in Black, then you'd be looking at a bit over 5,000 hands, in all likelihood. If you can get a table to yourself, then you'd be able to knock out 5,000 hands in 24-26 playing hours, but you'd be unlikely to have a table to yourself the whole time. I'd perhaps figure for about 150 hands per hour, given that people will come and go, so 30-40 playing hours. Early a.m. hours would be good.
Coach always told me not to get too far ahead of myself, though, you don't plan out your Playoff game in Week 4 of the regular season. Train and read, Ace, this is the biggest tournament of your life, so far, I think...focus on winning it first!!!

I'm giddy with anticipation.. Like today,
the Lions are playing the Bears. I have
a relative who's a huge Bears fan and
when they lose to the Lions, he's almost
suicidal. The potential schaden is killing
me..

I should fly you in to Vegas to root against me in person - would that make you happy? lol

What kind of room? It wouldn't make me happy,
but it would be satisfying..

Seeing in person when they take the chips
from a massive double down you'd made,
and slide them back into the rack. Well,
not happy. Exuberant, maybe..
Quote: aceofspadesI just received this - super excited!!! This could be just what the doctor ordered for an end of the year bonus!!!
Hmmm. Is it possible my invitation has been lost in the mail ?

623 hours not counting the 4 and 1/2 years trying to find a $1 Bj table.

So true, lol.
It would also be funny to see someone with that huge of amount of chips (as a crowd gathers around) and then he would just flat bet minimum, lol.

I think the crowd would disperse rather quickly once they saw only $1 was being bet.

1. Get invited. 2. Show up. 3. Overbet your BR. 4. Get wasted
on free booze. 5. Give us all the details in a TR.

I thought you would want me to at least make it to the final round, final bet and lose by $1...no?

Don't ruin it for me by projecting, I want
to be surprised.

There is Wong's book. I have not read it, but it comes highly recommended.
