I remember a casino that let you double with just one card (an ace), before you receive the second one. Is this usual? Is this good? How should i play that?

If the casino also lets you do that after splitting there are some cases where you should split tens.

How are the two related? If I have two tens, I can't simultaneously have one ace, can I?

If that rule applies to only aces I misunderstood. If it applies to any first card then what I said would make sense. (Not that you'd want to double on a first card that's small though.)

Triple Attack Blackjack lets the player double his bet after seeing his first card. Of course, they add other rules against the player as well.
