Hi! My name is Damián, from Rosario (Argentina). I'm new in all this, and I want to give it a try.

My game is an European (No hole card), S17, DAS, No surrender, 6 decks, mínimum bet $10, máximum bet $250.

I want to try the Ace-Five count in this game, just to start. Can I win this game using that count?

Also, I'm going to play only half of the hands where the count is negative. How much this will increase my chances?

A $1000 bankroll is too low? What will be a good spread?

Excuse me for my english please :(

It's hard to say. You could possibly break even with a 1-6 spread. Do you get good comps? The problem, as you may suspect, is the bankroll. You've only got 16 max bets. Even without the the high variance of this count it's not enough. Take a look at one of the KO counts.

Hi, Damian:

Like you, I'm new to this board (let's be buds!).

I'm also looking at the same problem as you: I think I've figured out the proper basic strategy for my local casino and I wonder how sophisticated my counting system would have to be to overcome the remaining house edge, which I believe to be about 0.35%.

Am I right in assuming your remaining house edge is 0.55%? http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php?numdecks=6+decks&soft17=s17&dbl=all&das=yes&surr=ns&peek=no

So, can anyone help us out? Is there any way to quantify the adjustment to the house edge that comes at certain true count levels using Ace-Five?

from my experience, A-5 is not good enough for a serious counter. A-5 is a count for someone to try when they have just learned basic strategy and are interested in counting.

If you're serious, I'd suggest learning another system.
