Hey all- Just wondering if anyone had any tips for learning basic strategy and card counting. I downloaded a free app called BJ101 that has been helpful so far, but I find I'm still hovering around 90% accuracy and it doesn't teach card counting at all.
SO, any advice on learning the strategy? Any suggestions on a good card counting method for a newbie? My first instinct would be a relatively simple one that includes aces in the count.
My casino's rules are: 4+ decks, hit on soft 17, double any card, no surrender.
Thanks in advance!

If you're serious about learning basic strategy, card counting, index plays, and money management, there's no better tool than Casino Verite software.

For learning basic strategy, print out a chart and use it when you play, either online or at a live table
I taught how to keep a running count just by standing behind a table for 10 minutes most days while walking through a casino

I grew interested in the game about a year ago, and (somewhat randomly) bought "Blackjack Bluebook II" by Fred Renzey. It includes instruction on the "KISS" count, a level one unbalanced count. I found it quite easy to learn and have had some good results with it.
There's also a website, www.hitorstand.net, with a good on-line game to drill basic strategy.

A good place to start is “The GameMaster's Blackjack School”.
You can find it on http://www.gamemasteronline.com/BlackjackContent.shtml.
Good luck and, as Don Schlesinger says, good cards!
