I'm about to host a blackjack night for my friends. Stakes are 25 cents to 2 dollars. My friends love side bets, I would like something that resolves very easily and has a simple pay table, yet has a decent house edge. Something with maybe just 2 payouts would be great, one smaller one that will hit often, and one bigger one that is unlikely. Maybe some variation of a perfect match type thing. Thanks!

Offer 2 to 1 for first two cards being suited and 40 to 1 for a suited pair. Of course this assumes multi-deck.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

That sounds about right, whats the edge on that?
Edit: for the record its 6 deck

Off the top of my head I would guess around 28%.

Unless I am missing something, you wouldn't want to do that unless you are wanting to give your friends' money...lol
That has a 35.37% player advantage.
Suited: 72/311 x 2 = 0.4630
Suited Pair: 5/311 x 40 = 0.6431
All Other: 234/311 x -1 = -0.7524
Total: 0.3537
But obviously you can adjust the odds as you see fit:
Like 3 to 2 for suited hands, and 20 to 1 for a suited pair.
Suited: 72/311 x 1.5 = 0.3473
Suited Pair: 5/311 x 20 = 0.3215
All Other: 234/311 x -1 = -0.7524
Total: -0.0836 = 8.36% house edge
Giving a 15 to 1 payout instead for a suited pair and 3 to 2 for a suited hand would give you a 16.4% edge.

I got one that I made a while ago, but it's easily countable.
A player OR dealer blackjack pays 8.5 to 1 and a player AND dealer blackjack pays 21 to 1. Gives a house edge of 9 percent..... although there was something with the math that lead me to believe the edge may have been 7%, I'm pretty sure I just made an error. Either way I know the edge is either 7 or 9%, and I'm leaning towards 9.
Or you could do something simple like any pair pays 11 to 1. There's a whole lot of side bets you could possibly use, though, if you are willing to have higher payouts.
Their's a whole list of them down here....

I agree with TRINGLOMANE's math except for there are only 72 cards that pay the 2 to 1.
If you want a big payout make the 40 to 1 for suited Queens or any other specific card. It will still be attractive to your friends and leave you a huge house edge.

Dammit, you're right. Math's fixed.
