Shed not for her
the bitter tear
Nor give the heart
to vain regret
Tis but the casket
that lies here,
The gem that filled it
Sparkles yet

How can anyone pay attention to the game with all of this ridciulous noise and chicanery afoot?

There are three types of people in this world, those who can count and those who can not.

At least BJ still pays 3 to 2 at that place. That says way more than Vegas "party pits".

Counting in this pit may be enough cover in and of itself haha.

That looks miserable, also, Mystic Lake is dry (or was when I was there last). If that is the case then I doubt the party atmosphere is the least bit exciting compared to other party pits.

Yeah I'm guessing it is the "Hey look someone has a video camera so I better jump around and
shout" mentality/phenomenon in action.
There's emptiness behind their eyes
There's dust in all their hearts
They just want to steal us all and take us all apart

They started serving beer and wine a couple weeks ago.

I thought the chips were just blank poker chips as props... so it looks staged.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

Absolutely it was staged. those are generic poker chips. Notice the edits from wide to tight which could only be done either with stopping the action to adjust the camera shot, or by using multiple cameras which I doubt casinos would allow. But the biggest give-away of all is that the video was put on YouTube by the casino.
Frankly, it was well done. Not an authentic representation. But well done.
I hope they didn't pay too much for the video. My company would have done it for "half price."
LOL
Heck, I would have done it for "free play."

I've played in that pit many times. it's not a bad game. DAS, DA2, H17, 3:2, RSA. Other tables at Mystic offer late surrender, so there's some penalty to playing in the party pit. But, there's easy trivia with prizes, NO heat (nobody is paying attention), and eye candy. I haven't played in this pit since the alcohol went in, but so far the booze is off the casino floor - you have to walk over to the beer/wine dispensery or to a restaurant - so service would be tricky for now.

At the :13 second mark, it looked like the woman cheers wildly at being dealt a hard 16! But I watched it again and it seems possible that her hand is not the one directly in front of her and she's really cheering at the blackjack in the hand to her right.
