strictlyAP - issues in general...
I am basically being told that I need to increase my play in order to keep getting rooms.
I was told that the weekends I went "full tilt" though being large losses, do not "tide me
over with freebies for weeks on end" - and that my recent trips of playing short sessions
(what I like to call my "hit and run" sessions) would not result in future invitations to play.
Additionally, I am sure that my recent short sessions that resulted in my winning 7k did not
make them happy. It seems Revel's policy is to only offer freebies for those who are happy
to lose every single trip rather than reward loyalty for players like myself who sometimes
play lengthy sessions and other times short sessions to try and recoup some losses. Moreover,
my host previously invited me to see the Cheap Trick/Aerosmith show the day after Thanksgiving
(my dad and I were going to go and spend the weekend hanging out) - well, apparently that
offer was rescinded prior to my playing this past weekend without any notice to me ( I just
found out today). I will say that their occupancy has averaged about 30% since end of summer.
I would think that, whether my sessions were short or long, they would like to have some play
on the casino floor. The room will sit there empty anyway, why not have a loyal player stay a
few days.
Apparently, Revel is not learning from their mistakes.

That's really sweating it like a fourth- or fifth-rate joint in downtown Las Vegas.

Exactly (also found out a high roller wanted to play $75k/hand and DID NOT SEEK A REBATE) he was told that they did not want his action.
I can only assume that the phrase "did not want" should be read as "could not handle"

If you put up with shit likes this, you are a chump. Tell that host to go F*** himself and make him aware you will be telling everyone you can about this lousy treatment. Also tell him you are still going to the show, since you have already made plans. If possible tell him face to face !
Even if you have to wait until next trip to do so. Say it loud too! If he is a nice guy and decision was not his, tuff shit. Goes with the territory !
Quote: aceofspadesSo all my hours spent playing there could have been spent at someplace that appreciated my business :-(
You are a $cream.
Sounds similar to the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The joint opens up with some serious schizophrenia and the staff repeatedly make things far worse.Quote: SanchoPanzaThat's really sweating it like a fourth- or fifth-rate joint in downtown Las Vegas.
Its clear they are going to be a spiffy joint with few customers and some perpetually puzzled hosts wandering around wondering what went wrong but never looking in the mirror.

Anybody wanna bet on their obtaining their monthly reprieve (from debt obligations) for, say, the next three months?

Of Course with locals they don't have to give out rooms and foods.
Anyway Ace, sorry to hear about your dielema, but if you were a casino would you have liked customers like you? It is understandable that when casinos give out free food and weekend rooms, and concert tickets they expect 'More Play' time, specially on BJ and live poker. They would be more tolerant for craps, rouletts or slot players. They know you are a counter, and if you are just going to play hit and run they don't have opportunity to earn back their comps. As for player wanting to bet 75 K/ BJ hand, of course they will decline - most small casinos will. They could lose their entire months BJ winnings in an hour or so.
I enjoyed your reports, and good luck finding a casino who can handle your hit and run play style.
I tried to play Texas Hold'em Bonus this weekend but it seems that there wasn't enough business at Caesars or Bally's in Atlantic City this weekend to justify opening any of the tables. I found one at Resorts that had a big RESERVED marker on it and a surly looking dealer behind it but no one was playing.

My friend who also plays there who is a counter and does it semi-professionally also got killed- he lost about 6k
As for the 75k/hand being declined by the casino - would you say that Revel is a "small casino"?

Locals casinos everywhere else give these things away, why wouldn't the Atlantic Club?
Quote: s2dbakerI did great this weekend. I brought home a W-2G form playing the Aladdin slot machine at the Tropicana.

Cool, was it a standard ~$3 bet on the Aladdin machine? During a bonus?

Sure seems like they're trying their hardest to be a small casino!
I was playing the max bet which I think is $3. The machine said something about all scatter pays and then .. well, I took a picture:Quote: TheBigPaybakCool, was it a standard ~$3 bet on the Aladdin machine? During a bonus?

Nice hit! Had to help the weekend!
Is not the size of the casino. It's all about "small" minded table games managers !
Quote: aceofspadesConsensus on if I should take this weekend off after last week's loss?
That all depends . Are you a man or a sissy ?

Wow - are those the only two choices!!!

Well I am going down there thanksgiving weekend so thought maybe I would take a week off and clear my head...

If you're playing with an advantage a winning or losing weekend has nothing to do with it. It's about the big picture. The best way to clear your head is to take their money. Go get 'em!

So, if someone were heading to the Tropicana sometime in the near future, approximately where might one find that Aladdin machine?
You can't miss it. It's the center machine of three in a row. They are right around the corner from the top of the escalator that goes down to the boardwalk. If you are looking at the entrance to the escalator, it'll be to the left and around the corner as if you were going to the Player's Club center.Quote: FarFromVegasSo, if someone were heading to the Tropicana sometime in the near future, approximately where might one find that Aladdin machine?
I would also point out (or fairly warn) that the nice employee who gave me my money and W-2g said that was the first time he had a hand-pay from that bank of machines.

His initials wouldn't happen to be JA, would they? Those are the initials in the corner of the W-2G I got there in January (my first and only ever to date.) He reminded me of my husband's grandfather.
I'll go take a look at the machine and see if it's worth a try!
No hand initials but M.B. is printed in one box. The guy that gave me mine was balding, formerly blonde, a little soft in the middle, like Karl Rove with a genuinely happy disposition.Quote: FarFromVegasHis initials wouldn't happen to be JA, would they? Mine also has M.B. in the box labelled Window. If your guy had a Philadelphia Eagles lapel pin, I bet he was the same guy! Description sounds right.
