s2d: We should have a drink!
Flea: I am sure that all the crack houses will be rebuilt - crack is never wack during a natural disaster LOL
By CW do you mean the model # of an automatic shuffling machine? If not, what is CW?

Someone is ALWAYS watching....

They do say money never sleeps!!!
Oh yes, why do I look for the complicated solution rather than thinking with my other brain!!! Cocktail Waitresses seems right to me - and yes, they are gorgeous and usually very flirty with me!

Awwww was I missed - after all, I was there 2 weeks ago but did not put a report b/c I barely played - I was down with family and friends sort of a family type trip without much playing - BUT, I did go home +800.

Quote: FleaStiffSure. Let us know if Hurricane Sandy blew any of the egg off the faces of the GN suits. Also let us know if any crack houses got flooded out and are being rebuilt by FEMA funds.
Other than that... enjoy the gambling and the various CWs.
So you are saying there are such places in AC?
Sat down at a 100table
Talked about everyone's Hurricane Sandy stories coupled with the Nor'easter that hit us last night...
Proceeded to play - I was the only one at the table
Never really got into a good count but hit 4 blackjacks in the shoe
What was funny/astounding was that each dealer hand after I received a blackjack ended with the dealer getting a 21
end of session 1: +550
Quote: ahiromuI'll be at Trump Sun-Mon. First time back since -1100 3.5 hour craps session.
You'll get it back!!!
Sat down at the same table, same dealer as before and got totally wiped...
I lost every double down and by the end of the shoe I had lost the 550 I was up plus another 1500
Took a break to clear my head and came back, switched tables and proceeded to win and never look back in the next shoe
Got the 1500 back plus 100
So, for the trip I am +100
Oh lord. How I wish I was only stuck $1100 in craps right now ... :)Quote: ahiromuI'll be at Trump Sun-Mon. First time back since -1100 3.5 hour craps session.
Played a short session this morning:
First shoe was very eventful - for the dealer LOL
6 blackjacks for the dealer in the first shoe - including 2 of them during a 4 hand stretch where the dealer made 21 each time
dealer change and also a change in variance as I ended up +600
Trip is +700
Consisting of 3 shoes - the afternoon session was up and down, down and up. At one point, the double downs and splits went against me again. It was not until the third shoe that things gelled, ended up getting another 1k
Trip is +1700
I love being nearly the only one in the House, especially when I am playing Table Games because I will usually run around playing two games at once for fun (Usually Craps and Roulette because playing BJ without being really engaged is a pain for the dealer) until someone else joins one of the tables!
Quote: ahiromuI know this is like, a ridiculous request, but would any of you mind finding out if the Boardwalk Buffet at Caesar's has snow crab legs tomorrow (Sunday) night? I could have sworn their web page used to say their specials by day, also I paid $30 last time, listed as $20, so I'm thinking it's completely incorrect. I would really appreciate it, especially since I know it's out of the way.
I called them, and they state that they will have snow crab legs both today and tomorrow, enjoy!

Wow you actually like called, talk about above and beyond. Thank you very much.

You're welcome!
Quote: Mission146If I'm not mistaken, there is no IoC in AC.
At least not until the Atlantic Club changes hands again...:)
trip is negative 7400
The bulk of the losses were from repeatedly getting beat with hands of 19 and 20 to dealer's 5 card 20's and 21's - the count was favorable, the variance was not.
Hence, between the way the tournament was run and my repeated big losing sessions, I think I willbe changing casinos for a while
thoughts?
Quote: aceofspadesthoughts?
Variance is a heartless bitch.
Quote: aceofspadesI was doing well, count was good so I began pressing my bets, but, i kept losing every double down, 3 of those double downs were with 500base bet up for a total 3k loss

Define your goals. Do you want to extract every dollar that you can from the casino or are you okay with the ups and downs as long as you are lavished upon? It may not be possible to have both.
Playing high limits has undoubtedly generated review of your play more than once. Have you ever been flat bet, shuffled up on or half shoed? Have you wondered why not?
The Atlantic City 6 deck S17 game with 70% penetration is beatable. It will require a stronger counting strategy, a proper betting spread, wonging and index play consisting of at least the Illustrious 18. Since you are somewhat of a schmoozer, I recommend one of the good level 1 counts balanced or unbalanced. Your choice.
Obviously wonging is next to impossible in that high limit room so get out of there. The good 6 deck games can be found elsewhere, some with $25 minimums and mid shoe entry allowed. You can still have a $100 base bet but can exit negative shoes. Another option would be to drop to $25 and play all which is a form of wonging.
I have mentioned Pennsylvania and Connecticut for better games and they are by virtue of surrender but I'm not sure that you would see a difference without first stepping up your game. The house edge of the AC game is 0.42622% and in Pa. and Ct. it is 0.35361%. That's why I don't play in AC except for two times at Revel where I was able to exploit a certain situation.
Finally, what position has your host taken on the unconscionable snub that you received regarding the tournament? How it is handled will speak volumes.
Yes, several articles in the press and trade sources indicate that AC is "open" again but not bouncing back. Some employees are being put up at the casinos so as to have dealers available but the crowds are not there. People are going elsewhere. Pennsylvania is fine so why risk storm ravaged Atlantic City needlessly. The room discounts are steep, the convention charges are at give away levels, but the crowds have not returned.Quote: s2dbakerIt's really quiet here in Atlantic City. Everything is up and running but there's hardly anyone here in the casinos.
Quote: vendman1Ace, sorry for your bad weekend..I enjoy your trip reports, and it's sad to see a negative one. Keep your chin up and take a break, regroup some. Any chance they are giving you some kind of loss rebate?...Couldn't hurt to ask your host especially if you are considering switching casinos anyway. I know others are encouraging you to try PA, but stick in AC if thats where your comfortable. I live in MD and drive right by PA casinos to get to AC because I like it there and have built relationships there. So play where you have a good time and are comfortable. It's just a matter of if the HE of .42 vs. .35 in PA is worth it to you. To me it is more important to enjoy my trip, soumds like you are the same way. Better luck my man.
Thanks Vendman1 - I wish I had a happier trip report but alas, variance was not kind to me this week. I am in in the positive for the year so that is some conciliation. I am not sure when my next trip will be as I am having some issues with my host.
