I've seen a few people on here who gamble in Oklahoma. Has anyone been to the new Indigo Sky and know the Blackjack situation? It's the new location for Bordertown with a new name.
In Oklahoma, most casinos have ante (which is really a 50 cents fee to play one hand of BJ, which I think is a total bulls%$#). Bordertown used to have "free ante" on Tuesday and on Friday after 10 pm in the upper deck. They also had free ante all month in August, which was a marketing play to get people started on gambling for their new location. They had the best rule for 6-deck BJ (namely stand on soft 17), so I used to like playing there when there's no bulls%$# ante.
Anyway, has anyone here been there, who can tell me the BJ situation?
BTW, the WORST casino I know of in Oklahoma is Cherokee Casino in Siloam Springs. They have a Blackjack table with a $1 minimum. Here's the kicker: You have to pay 25 cents to pay $1 a hand:
25 cents for $1 to $4 a hand
50 cents for $5 to $9 a hand
and so forth.
On top of that, they have a continuous shuffler. What REALLY PISSES me off is the continuous shuffler. Only the people who have no idea about Blackjack will play on a table that extracts 25 cents for playing a $1 hand. If that wasn't greedy enough, they have a continuous shuffler. APs will NEVER play on that table, so it's not to deter cardcounting. The only reason why they have a shuffler is so they can eliminate the shuffling time and blood-suck more money out of the most uninformed players. I hate that place!!!

Apparently they opened up on Sept. 5, although their new website location says it will be another 11 days before the site is operational. I will likely pay a visit down there this Fall. When in the Joplin area, I always stop at Downstream Casino just north of Seneca, which is quite a place as well. Downstream is adding a second wing to their hotel, which is outstanding btw.

Quite frankly pal, it sounds like the best gambling decision for someone in Oklahoma to make is to save up their money for a ticket to Las Vegas.

@FleaStiff That's probably true, but the sad thing about living in the middle of nowhere is that it's f-ing expensive to fly to anywhere....
