Doesn't IGT pay this out? Not the Fremont.

I've always wondered, do the machines do anything interesting besides lockup when they hit the megabucks?

IGT does pay the jackpots, but I don't think the article sounded misleading. Of course, the Fremont has been paying revenue share for years.

That sentence implies that they've awarded many jackpots as well as this one. I guess now it depends on what context awarded is being used in. Using the Google definition I'd say the casino guy is not correct.

The machine was in their casino and was hit inside their casino, I cannot see the big deal. Something can be true in more than one way of understanding. The winner was Asian and won on 8/8/17, funny how superstition pays off sometimes. He might be Filipino, not sure if 8s are lucky for them or if it's just Chinese, but he was probably dragged to Vegas by Asian marketing that got him there.

The Fremont has had several Megabucks hits... so they have in fact paid others like this one.
