I don't usually play 3-card poker but if I've had a really tiring day and just want to blow off some steam, I grab a beer or two and just sit down at a mind numbingly easy to play game.
I was having a horrific work day and decided to go to Twin River on Thursday night. I only had $150 with me to play and told myself I'll stay one hour and no more. I've never had much luck with this game but I've seen others have good luck. Out of all of the games I've played and the numerous times visiting a casino, this was the luckiest hour I've ever personally experienced.
I started playing $10/$10/$5 and $10 to ante so $45. I hit a couple of pairs in the first 5 hands and the dealer did not qualify with a Queen in the first 5 hands. Then, I hit triple aces (AAA). I hit a full house on the top so made 30:1 on the bonus and 50:1 on the top. I was very happy. Two ladies sat to my right and a really nice guy was on my left. They were happy and clapped. Great! I have my beer and I won. I'm happy.
(TWO) hands later I hit a straight flush on a $15/$15/$15/$5 hand.
(FOUR) hands later I get a 3/3/5 and the dealer gets a 3/3/4 so I pull a 4 of a kind on the top.
A few hands later I swapped to two hands and stayed that way until I ended my session. I was doing well, either beating the dealer with no pairs or getting two pairs. Two guys sat down when the girls left and I hit two unsuited straights on both hands simultaneously. QKA and A23. 6:1 payouts on both. Crazy stuff. Everyone said I was in the lucky seat. I didn't care. I was having some serious fun.
Fifty minutes into my first hour, I was placing $30/$30/$30/$5 on both hands (I went up and down to chance a bit of luck) and I hit another straight flush. WTF???? I swear the pit boss came over and shook his head and said, Joel you are having a great night!!!
I couldn't believe it. I started at 5:25 pm and finished at 6:25 pm. I ended up clearing $2,900 combined on the table with my $150 to start. I left the table as I promised and texted my wife that I'd be about 30 min longer. I just wanted to try to roll the dice at craps one time in the evening.
I get to a $25 min craps table. I only take out $300 of my winnings and I pocked the rest. I put $30 on 6 and $30 on 8 and the very next throw some guy rolls a 7-out. I think to myself maybe I should just go home. They give the dice to a guy two spots to my right who is rolling randomly. I think what the hell, go big or go home. So, I put $25/$30/$30/$30 on 4/6/8/10 and $10 ea. on every hard way. The guy rolled the friggin dice for 40 minutes!! He hit numerous hard ways. I ended up leaving the craps table with my initial $300 and another $3,800. So, all in all I ended up with +$6,200 for the night and stayed at the casino for a total of 1 hour, 45 min or so.
I never even rolled the damn dice! LOL I was so happy I didn't care. After such a miserable work day, this was a great way to finish. I took my wife out to dinner and we grabbed a bottle of Cakebread Cellers Cab Red for $120 and had a seriously nice dinner at East Bay Grille.
I would have to say that was the luckiest I've ever been in such a short time at the casino where I only had $150 to risk.
Crazy variance and luck. Just crazy....

Nicely done!
So often the players who catch runs of cards like that never increase their wager at all.

Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland.
And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.
