I wasn't there, but they called me from Mohegan CT. She thought she was playing 25 cents x 5, but she was playing $1.25 x 5, and she won $5000!
I only wish this had happened when I thought I was playing the 25 cent WoF and I was actually playing the $25 WoF. Two spins, $100 flushed down the drain. But if I'd gotten a spin I wouldn't have been bitching. No sir.

That's a nice surprise. And it's nice your dad has a girlfriend in his later years.

FWIW : A functioning man of Mosca ' s dad's age has to beat off similar aged women with a stick. According to this article , the ratio of women to men over 85 is 206:100. Been that way for a long time: my Grandpa was inundated with casseroles and caring for years after my Grandma passed at age 66, finally remarrying at age 72 to a beautiful, lovely woman.

Well, of course older women outlive older men. The driver of the cart usually outlasts the horse pulling it.

At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I hate when I read stuff like this that actually makes me laugh out loud when I am at work. I get strange looks.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed.

Helen is a real pisser, she's got a Betty White thing going on. Walt is 88 and hanging in there, he plays competitive duplicate bridge and is a Gold Life Master.
Here she is mugging for the camera with my sister and brothers in law.

Lol. His first wedding was, I'm given to understand. You never met such a grouchy man. My dad didn't find out until their 39th wedding anniversary; he called to wish them a happy 40th and they corrected him. But, he said, I'm 40. Uncomfortable silence, followed by, We'd been meaning to tell you...
The second one, he was transformed. Smiling, laughing, nearly a stranger, but a fun one. They got 2 years together, then she simply laid her face into the mashed potatoes one night at dinner and was gone.
He lived about 5 more years, dour and sad again. Passed away at 81, the last of my grandparents.
He was a good man, kind and generous, accomplished and respected. But not a happy man.
