There were three empty seats, so I decided to play two hands. There was no one playing the hand in the empty seat, so after about 5 hands she asked to sit there, and no one minded. So I said, "If you're going to sit there you might as well play the hand." And I tossed a couple nickels, one on the ante and one on the pairs plus, and a white on the button. And the dealer dealt, and she looked at her cards and asked, "What do I do with this?"
The 8-9-10 of spades.
Quote: MoscaWe were up at Mohegan Pocono for dinner, and the 3 Card mini royal bonus (a $1 button bet) was up over $12000. The table minimum was $5, so I decided to take 10 shots at the AKQ of spades and bought in for $100.

Lol...Dangerous precedent to set; how do you top that? Congrats to Miz M!
1) I was 12 at the aqueduct racetrack and bet a horse by the name of barrier free to win. My dad got heckled by a few fine upstanding gents for being so stupid to waste his two dollars allowing me to be that horse.... Barrier Free won the race at 162 to 1 (longest long shot in 20+ years at the time)
2) on a royal Caribbean cruise i wanted to play the slots but the rents wouldn't let me. I begged for days (literally) and they finally gave me 20. found a machine with 50 cents left in it. sat down, spin number two hit a $500 jackpot. Thought i was going to be detained in the underbelly of the ship.
I was doomed to enter this industry from the start...
Quote: DeucekiesNice score! Did she sit down at third base, taking that hand from the dealer? Good timing if she did.
The woman whose hand it would have been was surprisingly gracious and congratulatory.

Glad to hear that. A rare treat.

That is why when I play this game I will only sit in the first spot. I would be pissed.
My first time gambling ever was at Cherokee, and with the place being super crowded, I joined an empty Let It Ride table and got the dealer to teach me to play.
The very first hand I didn't play any bonus bets, I was confused enough about the actual game. And what does the dealer dish out? A straight flush, 7-8-9 of diamonds, or something to that effect.
The other 2 cards flip, and of course no hand was made. Sigh. Gambling.
