hey folks!
my first post....
In Feb 2012, I was staying in Vegas a few days doing my regular stuff: sports bets, BJ and some craps, plus lots of drinking. I am a beer guy so on an aimless night I went to Mandalay Place to the Burger Bar, where I often go for their tasty brews.
There was a Veterinarian conference at MB and a few British vet's had found their way into Burger Bar. We traded beer stories and I had them drinking a lot of San Diego based brews. Later I made them apologize for the burning of the White House in the War of 1812 :-)
After it was all done and I was sloshed, I wandered through MB on the way to the cabs (I was staying at Palms).
I don't play roulette. I regard it as a house game (particularly 00) and I don't feel I can influence a win through strategy. It feels like pure luck. For whatever reason, as I was walking through I stopped at one table where someone was wearing a New York Giant jersey (I had made serious $$$$$ on them a few weeks previous) and I put down $20 on "24", my number. It was going to be one bet and out regardless of outcome. Now, since I am writing this, you can guess that I won. Boom! 720 bucks! Nice...so I staggered over to the cashier and collected my dollars.
On the way out I noticed the Giants fan was at another table. Powered by alcohol, I barged over and got a $100 bet also on "24". Boom. $3600 and I have only made 2 bets.
I wish the story ended there. I cashed in, but I did try the stunt at a few other tables (NYG guy not to be found) and no go. So up approx $4000, I got the cab and told the story to the driver.
When I arrived at the Palms, I played BJ for a while and broke even. For fun I went to the roulette table there and yes, hit it one more time on a $20 bet.
Up approx $4700 on a handful of bets....I crashed
Since that night I have made roulette a part of my repertoire, and have had good fortune with it. But nothing like the drunken run in late February 2012...

I don't get it. What do you do to have
good fortune with it.

good question. I think its pure luck so I don't play for long periods, thereby limiting my losses. and I do have a "knack" for hitting my number, which i can't explain. I hit "24" far more than I or anyone should, given the sample size.

It'll pass. Quit while you're ahead. Seriously.

Yeah, if you only count the wins and forget about the losses - we are all lifetime winners at roulette, aren't we ?
