Lots of variables here.
I already have a trip planned for July 2nd.
I do not know whether the promotion will be there then.
The bottom line cost of the trip including travel and the net amount I put through the slot machines would be about $1,050.
The net amount I put in the slot machines is the initial $1,000 less the estimated winnings I would keep from the $1,000 free play.
There is the chance I actually win more than the cost of the trip.
At a minimum I am getting $2,000 worth of play for an estimated $1,050.
What are the chances the promotion is there on July 2nd?
Is it worth it for me to go now?
If you can stand the variance, I say go for it! Also note the Riviera could cancel at any time, so go earlier then later.

There have been a number of good promotions at Terrible's, Tropicana, etc. Chances are high that someone will try to match or come close to Riviera's promotion on 2nd July.

I didn't factor that in. There might be a similar promotion by then.
Especially since it is slow season.

Note that the rebate is provided in two installments, so you would have to wait until after the third day of the following month to get your second half.

Does the Trop still have their promo going for new signups? If you're going to Vegas on 7/2 in any case, it might make sense to go earlier in May or June and do the Riviera and Trop promos and then cash in the second installment of the free play in July.

Thanks. I already planned on coming back to LV within a year to get the second $500 installment.
To make things easier, I just put together any winnings from both installments.

POST 1000!!!!
Anyways, does anybody know what the Trop promotion was? I was there in August, so I think I still have $50 coming back to me. Was it a year, or 6 months? I plan on doing the Riviera promotion while in town, though not for the full 1000 (unless I hit it big early on playing tiles or something else!)
I would say to never adjust your schedule to suit the casino's desires: when you happen to arrive, the promotion will probably still be going strong and if not, some other casino will be waving some sort of offer at you. Few casinos yank offers off the table after gaining the favorable publicity. They've paid for billboards and have mailers being printed up and sent out and there is a time lag not only for the players to get the word but to react to it. The casino does not want to make enemies by making false promises or yanking the carrot away too soon. They analyzed the offer before they started it. They will stick with it for awhile.Quote: jwblueIs it worth it for me to go now?
I'd hope that when you arrive and want to take advantage of the offer you get nothing but payouts at each slot machine you go to. So whats the rush about losses?

I was just there a month ago, and I am 99.6 % sure that
the 2nd half of the rebate is good for a year.
Of course, you could always just call them and ask in
case the 0.4 % comes up.
