Odds bets have no edge. It’s the only “free” bet in the casino so you should always max itQuote: ijk01Thanks for the reply. However, as I do not back up my DP/DC bets I am paid even money. My thinking re this not going behind is that if I have survived the pass/come out roll and am now against then why lower my now advantage? I reason that if yes players lower the house edge by going behind, it would be disadvantageous to go behind “don’t” bets.

If DP/DC had a player advantage then I would only play that (no odds). But it has an edge of 1.36%. If you are willing to make a bet at 1.36% edge, why wouldn’t you be willing to make a bet at zero edge ?
It’s all about making that GTA

You're right - I read that part wrong. However, my other point still stands; if you are down 2 bets and have two points in play (and they are different, and some pair other than 4 and 10), you are more likely to roll one of those numbers, which puts you down 3 bets (and a subsequent 7 only brings you back to -2), than a 7.
