I was on a cruise and the weather was terrible. In the casino was one of those piston things that push money over the edge (which rarely happens). A rough and high wave hit the ship and made it list enough to dump a lot of the money inside into the winners tray!
Thank you Mother Nature!
Quote: HunterhillThis is why you should always book your cruise during hurricane season.
That got me, first genuine lol of the week.
There were these crossbows that shot suction darts, and you could win various prizes if you hit certain targets.
We figured out there was no real "trick" to it, other than just practicing, which most people didn't do; they just played once or twice then moved on. I guess whoever set up the game figured that no one would want to sit there for 10-15 minutes just practicing to get good at it, but my friend and I did, and the girl running the booth eventually had to cut us off because we were winning too much.

Heh. And I thought Michael Bluejay's "Flip It" article at WOO was the final word on this game. It looks like he missed an advantage play.

they do. I am doubting the story.

Maybe if the storm had been even worse the tables could have tipped and dumped chips on the floor. I've seen that happen on YouTube in casinos; tables get knocked over when two dopes start fighting each other. Onlookers then grab loose chips and run lor the door. On a ship though, you don't have anyplace to run to :-).
Sound like having a flip it machine on boat is a fairly bad idea.Quote: darkozBesides being bolted down the natural rocking motion of the ship may have forced them to set the tilt to low or off altogether
I would be looking closely at some of their other games and stuff they have going on.

As an AP move wouldn't the rocking in a storm just as easily work against you?
All yhe coins about to fall and then slide to the back in a sudden squall?

Only if it's a Chinese storm.
Not if you timed it correctly. I'm still skeptical about this in the first place.Quote: darkozAs an AP move wouldn't the rocking in a storm just as easily work against you?

Quote: JoemanAw man, someone corrected the thread's title. I got a chuckle out of imagining someone figuring out a way to become a carnival game! :)
Does this side bet make me look fat?
Well, for those who are interested, a few months ago I rewrote the article, including adding a descriptive picture showing how some of the coins are never returned to the player. No, I didn't add anything about playing on a ship.Quote: GialmereHeh. And I thought Michael Bluejay's "Flip It" article at WOO was the final word on this game. Separate from the tilt feature, these machines generally have a time-out feature. If coins drop X seconds after the last coin played (teetering on the edge, finally induced to fall by a bump), the coins are collected by the machine internally and aren't returned to the player. On a rocking ship, one could overcome that by figuring out how many seconds for the timeout feature, and then putting a coin in periodically to keep the game from timing out.

I held off doing that for the same reason. Not sure who was the good mod on it. :)

I have heard this same thing from another well known ap so I believe its possible.
