So there is a casino offering a game in Bingo using the word progessive. The prize is a set dollar amount, never increases but the qualifier gets easier to hit but once it reaches a certain point it stays constant until it hits. Then the qualifier resets but the prize amount remains the same. It's a separate game so it's a separate prize pool with a consolation if it doesn't get hit.

Is this legal? Using the word progressive? It's technically not a progressive in my opinion.

Moral progressives, progressive this, progressive that....
IF the casino is Brick and Mortar, what is the Gaming Board's definition.
If its online, guess it never matters what they say or do, no one is in control.

I don't know about other locations, but in Nevada, the term “progressive payoff schedule” means "a game or machine payoff schedule, including those associated with contests, tournaments or promotions, that increases automatically over time or as the game(s) or machine(s) are played." However, the casino can put a cap on the progressive at any time, so if you go by a strict reading, pretty much any machine can be a progressive machine provided that the jackpot is never lowered until someone hits it or the difference is transferred to other progressive jackpots. Also, I think the term's strict definition applies only to table games, machines, and keno.

The issue is the prize never increases over time, nor decreases. The pay off is the same every time but the qualifier to win gets progressively easier over time until they cap the qualifier. As stated, it's an independent game in which you need to pay to play.

Wonder what the Nevada Gaming Control interprets the wiord. I like the game, I just don't like the way they advertise it but it does get progressively easier to hit so there is some progression. Just not in the prize pool.

I think you answered your own question.

It’s the qualifier that progresses, not the payout.

The gaming board in that area may disagree depending on the exact wording, but I think it’s acceptable.

True. I just started to over think it since its a separate game, with separate payouts and the consolation prize is half of the tickets sold for that game. The other half never goes back into the prize pool since it's a set payout

Kinda sounds like processor of combinations, kinda like a box of pizza with 12 slices, as each slice gets removed, the pizza becomes more popular leaving the last slice to those wishing to fight for it.

I don't think the Gaming Board would have any issue with that.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
