Win 20% of Bank roll

Hi Everyone,

First I am not a system player, but i do play bj, bacara off and on over 20 years. I just talk to one of my relative he been play bj long time and lost alot.
Now he goes to casino play bj and only looking to win 20% of his bank roll, bets from 1-4 unit. First unit is 1% of his BR. He is been on a winning streaks that i never heard of, 48 winning. He is BK only $2,500.00 and take home $500.00 every time. Just talk to him last night he BK $,4000.00 and take home $500.00 and this win make his 49th winning streak i asked him why less then 20%, his answered he just wanted quick win and not taking any changes by reducing 10+% profit. He is out to a casino tonight looking for his 50th win. I guess it great to be living in So Cal.

Have anyone try this, are even consider this method with their system counting?

Sounds like a bad system, to me.

What's he do if he gets stuck a large amount? Does he quit when he's losing or would he keep going until his BR is either $0 or +20%? If he keeps playing until he hits 20% win or his bankroll is gone.......well, eventually, he gonna hit a bad run and lose it all. [Not that having quit-limits would be a good system....it just wouldn't be as bad.]

Like everything, it is exactly as bad/good as every other system.

If you want to win 20% of your bankroll, I'm sure I can help you find someone who will pay 1 for 5 on any bet you make.

He dosent bet that large to get stuck, if the table or a shoes dont do well he bet minimum of the table. If it bad night he walk out with10% win of his br. He started with $2,500.00 bk.

I remember when i used to play barcarat winning 20% of my bk was not that hard, betting min to 5x my bet in a short run can make that 20% win of bk. But greety that what got me kill. Going to try out winning 20% of my br this week. Wish me luck

Funny you should ask.
I did this only a few weeks back alongside a debate about target betting with 10% profit goals.

As it happened, I had an unusually long run of luck too. Not nearly as lucky as your friend. I rather suspect that you are only hearing about his winning streaks, which would seem just too fantastic to be true.

Don't try it except with pocket change as an exercise in losing.

I value your participation here, and I hope you decide to continue despite your distaste for threads like this. The point of setting up this "Betting Systems" sub-forum was to gather all these threads in one place, in providing a preponderance of information (via active and archived threads) to those who want the math to either prove or refute all the system-sellers and "winning" systems out there. IMO it serves an important (and primary) purpose on this site, to demonstrate HOW these things really work vs. what people think/hope/believe will happen.

So, yeah, it gets tiresome seeing what boils down to 40 variations on Martingale a year, but identifying and debunking them as such is useful as new players look for guidance. I really appreciate those with the skills to discuss and debunk these things making the effort to do so time and again; I think it adds credibility and authority to the site. YMMV, of course. :)

Having the sub section is fine- just seems it's not new members but the same ones over and over- even given the screen names of whatsys- from my standpoint does not seem like a newbe name for someone looking for info
