Quote: jamesbond007My biggest win ever. I was at the MGM and I sat down on $5 blackjack table and guess what. I was dealt a Ace of spades and Jack of spades and wooo and behold I was paid $7.50. Wow, I almost fell out of my chair the biggest win ever, I mean this is $7.50 US dollars, after that I went to McDonalds and got a Big Mac and Fries and I Coke and then went to bed. I could handle all the action for one night.
Intredasting.
OFF WITH YOUR HEAD
unfortunately for the rest of us, of your 4 threads this one probably has the most substance.

Should you ever be this fortunate again, maybe try the nuggets next time.
There's some phrase that suggests this, but it escapes me at the moment.

Very good, James. I trust the original $5 went to the valet when he brought your Aston Martin around. :-)
It's orders of magnitude more likely that the OP is misremembering the event.
Quote: Deucekiesable to buy a Big Mac meal in Vegas for less than $7.50?
$12.50. You get to keep the original $5 on a win.
a) Approximately 1 in 20
b) Unknown -- but years ago, perhaps close to 100%
c) Irrelevant, although I'm fairly certain you can get a #1 (big mac, fries, drink) for less than $7.50.
Had I been flat betting, ignoring everything else that happened in the session, 3 BJ's (4.5 unit win) would have offset 2 double down loss (4 unit loss), BUT I was NOT flat betting, so these 5 rounds combined for a $1500 loss. The session was actually only a $362.50 loss, so it could have been worse. :/

Orders of magnitude, I tells ya. Orders. Of. Magnitude.
Quote: kewljOnly mildly related, I had a session today, where I started with three consecutive blackjack. I have had 3 consecutive BJ's many times, but never remember 3 consecutive to start a session. Of course all were at my minimum wager ($25). Unfortunately the session ended with back to back double down losses, both at my max wager ($400).

If you don't mind me asking, what is your ramp on your 1-16 spread?

I max bet at TC +4, for most shoe games. If it is a smaller type local casino where I am going to max bet less than $400, then I put that max bet out a bit earlier @ TC +3 to compensate. I am not going to fill in the in between jumps in wagers, as that becomes a little too identifying.

I wish I had the bankroll some of you folks have. I'm pretty simple. I spread 1-5 and play only a minimum and maximum bet.
