NOTE: Are all Boyd Casinos offering FOURTEEN times points on Valentine's Day or only Diamond Jo's?
14X points on slots in Tunica too, but excludes VP. It's not 14X at Blue Chip in Indiana.
Depends on the damage, whether the machine is otherwise Somehow defective and the age of the machine. Some degree of punching should be accounted for in the design of the machine, depending on the strength of the punch, but not if a person is wearing a ring. I just don't want to say it is always 100% on a patron, sometimes it could just be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Really don't know.any particulars, so can't blanket.Quote: FleaStiffDid Diamond Jo in Iowa over react? A man punched a slot machine and was arrested for causing over two thousand dollars in damages.

Also:
Did anyone find out about that fourteen points on valentine's day??
If all Boyd casinos have it that might be of interest to a good many members here.

No. President's Day 11X slot/6X VP multiplier in Vegas.
Good move for the casino.
Quote: IbeatyouracesThere are a bunch of videos on YouTube of people busting slot machines. The funniest one is the guy who comes back with an axe!

I'm not sure which part I like more-- that he just walks out so nonchalantly after, or that he uses the back (non-bladed side of the head) to bash them.

I've read that a guy who already lost like $10,000 went back the very next day with $6,000 with his intent of winning that lost $10,000 back. He lost that $6,000 too and was furious that he lost $16,000 in just two days. He went into his car, took out a gun and shot the slot machine and was promptly arrested on charges of machine damage and reckless discharge of a firearm.
Quote: onenickelmiracleSo it's essentially extortion? Pay us an arbitrary price for a used part now or try the legal system? Guess that's the program at a lot of casinos. Kind of scares me if you hit the screen too hard they'll point the finger and ban you Nationwide.
I haven't read the article or seen what's up. But on the other hand, there really isn't a good reason to hit a machine, at least enough to cause damage. Tap, slap, rub, etc. whatever none of that should break the machine. If I were the casino, I'd want a form of recourse to get repaid for someone breaking a machine unnecessarily.
Boyd owns Diamond Jo's now? In Iowa? Isn't that joint in Missouri, a few minutes from KCMO?

If you go to any business and smash up their equipment, you can expect to be told the same thing. The right answer here is not to punch a slot machine, and if slots make you angry enough you don't feel like you can help it, then something worse is wrong and you probably need to quit playing slots.
There is a reasonable degree of punching and hitting that is ok, machines have to be designed to take some abuse. You can hit a machine without necessarily having a problem.Quote: ZekkaIf you go to any business and smash up their equipment, you can expect to be told the same thing. I saw a woman punching a slot machine after she lost angrily screaming,"B...B....!" But as far as I knew the machine looked fine and she wasn't charged for damages to the machine.
