Funny, you'd think Mt. Airy would've learned the first time they got fined for this? Then again, they are well known for making mistakes!

Figured I just bumped this old thread rather than start a new one.

Had my first trip to Mt. Airy in almost 3 years.

The Good: The Buffet has improved some, but the price is still High on weekends at $45 a head. Which makes Lines super short as the senior crowd usually comes when it's freebie day or Senior Discount Wednesday

Table games seem to have expanded, whereas last time they had maybe 12-15 running games on a Friday night, it appears to have Doubled.

They also have Baccarat on the Main Floor with a $25 minimum, which is a nice change of pace from the empty $50 tables in the High Limit room.

The Bad: Super smoky and more Slot machines keep getting jammed on the main floor. You are elbow deep cigarette ash and soot.

Drink service is slow and a LOT of the regular girls seem to be gone. Could have been their day off, but many that I remember being friendly with either had kids during the pandemic or moved on to greener pastures(Wind Creek).

The Ugly: High Limit is still very pathetic and just bad service all around. Drinks were hardly served and the new waitresses often messed up orders. Comps were few and hard to come by. And the usual drunks and punters were present at Baccarat, making the game slow, clunky and boring at times. I was able to make a profit, but didn't have much fun doing it.

Plus Side: Their come back and play offers are pretty decent considering how much time I played and they are suddenly willing to give Comped rooms any day of the week! So who knows I may make a return before the year is through!

Yea Pre-Covid they couldn't pay people to show up! Which I used to like a LOT because it gave me run of the place, dibs on table Game seats and none of that 3 person per table limit garbage.

Once Casinos re-opened in 2020, it was a mad house! Then around 2022 (my last visit prior to this year) it seemed to tail off and only had big crowds on weekends.

My only real gripe is the drink service, due to an incident where someone left the casino intoxicated and killed a jogger with their car, they have this horrible drink rule of 2 alcoholic drinks per hour. And you have to have a player's car AND be playing on a machine or table AND you can't use a spouse's card. Add that all the seniors ordering coffees, juices and soda it makes for even longer wait times than usual.

High limit used to have their own dedicated waitress, but that seems to have gone the way of the dodo as the lady would be seen on the main floor serving slot jockeys!
