I'll be staying in SoHo, a few blocks from a subway entrance, and was hoping I could ditch my underage friend and spend a couple of hours at a casino. The one I readily know about is Resorts World, which it seems I could get to via the blue A line (is that the right term?). However, their website mentions that they're still using etable games and makes no reference to real table games.

Is there a casino within an hour of the city (one way) that has legitimate table games? Bethlehem, PA (Sands) would be too far away.

AC and CT about 2.5 hours each way depending on traffic and once you are outside of Manhattan that is.
Bac79=Hazardous Material and Chemical person correcting other's mistakes. Non AP'er, I can't count cards, low intelligence. Sprinkles magical dust on the cards. Has a lucky monkey. Baby also has a green one. Sum it up: "It's okay just blame me, it's all my fault"! ( No one believes me--so I chose to stop posting)

If not by car, CT can go AMTRAK (Penn Sta.). Only stops outside Manhattan are Stamford, New Haven, and New London. Busses from New London to either are rather frequent on weekends. Still, though, 2.5 - 3 hrs.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

The right term is just 'the A'. No blue, no line. Just 'the A'.

I was paying $350 a night for a room in Manahattan, so I wasn't going to head down to AC for a day :). Getting to Resorts World via the A is kind of depressing. Half of the people leaving the subway head to the racetrack and the other half go to the casino. The place really reminded me of Maryland Live before they introduced table games. A nothing-special casino doing insane revenue as a proverbial slot parlor. I bought in on e-craps for $200, dropped to $100, got as high as $450, then left with $300 (+100).

Thanks for the info guys, also, this is the first time I went to NYC and didn't end up in Brooklyn on accident (last two trips my compatriots and I screwed up reading the subway maps and ended up in Brooklyn).

Is it really accurate that RW grosses more than any other casino in US-even FW and MS?

In May 2012 RW generated gross gaming revenues of $57.5. Second place was Mohegan Sun in Connecticut at $55.4 million. Borgata generated $50.01 million.
That same month PARX in Philadelphia generated $42 million, and Sands generated $36 million.

In 2015 PARX is generating around $30 million in January and February in slot revenue, while Sands has dropped to $22m and $23m in slot revenue.
In table game revenue Sands Bethlehem shines at $16m and $15.3m in table game revenue beating PARX $10.8m and $11.7 m .

RW is on a subway line, while you have to exert a little time to get to any other casino on the East Coast. They knew before they opened that the rate of return per machine at RW would bust every world record.

Resorts World is not just on a subway line, it's one stop away from JFK airport more or less. Can't hurt.
