Staying at Ceasars Atlantic City which has some of the highest resorts fees.
Said fees do not include internet. Have to pay for that.
Fine.
Babysitting my 9 year old grandson so we go to the pool. Its 21 and over but we can go to the family pool all the way in Ballys.
Trek all the way thru the winding halls to the Ballys pool. And those have fees to get in!!!.
First hotel period I have ever stayed in my life where you had to also pay to enjoy the pool (and you still have to show room key so its not an open pool, its still guests only)
So,, its $10 if you are a Ballys guest and $20 if you are from Ceasars. WHAT????
I wasnt even getting in the water. Just my grandson but just for entering and sitting they wanted $40 for my 9 year old to go swimming.
I complained we were only from ceasars because the pool there was 21 and over and she finally charged us the Ballys rate.
Still, $20 for my grandson to swim in the hotel pool is mindboggling.
So what did the resort fees pay for here?
Is this gonna be the new trend like parking fees. Hotel pool fees? Is it gonna spread?
They just emptied the pool for a daily 1-1:30 pm "safety check"
So now 30 people are waiting around (or leaving) with an empty pool we all paid for.
This cant be done after pool closing?
Oh for the days when good looking girls got into the pool area with no problems whatsoever. Long ago I posted Sin City Carmine's obituary thread. She used to review Vegas pools and pool parties and give tips on how to avoid lines or fees.
With my deteriorated brain cells, I can't even remember the name of that Faux French casino in Vegas that had an eighth floor pool with ZERO signage. Just a door with Women on it and then an alcove with lockers and towels. No lobby or elevator listings. Just a small pool area for females who wanted to enjoy a pool without any male gawkers being around. It wasn't topless or anything like that, it was just a women's pool area.

Doing these is pretty standard in pools. They check the water plus give life guards a break.
Diamond gets free pool.
I have stayed at ballys maybe 20 times and never went to the pool. I never understood why people go to the pool while at the beach. Dont you go there with a kid for the beach?

Probably less likely to step on a hypodermic needle at the pool. Not sure if you're less likely to swim with poop or not. That might be one of the reasons for the "safety" check at the pool.

-Collect high level playing cards. I used to find them easily on the casino floor, not so much any more. Now I usually just ask acquaintances for them -- if they're paranoid about someone else using it, scratch up the back strip with a key. Most any casino pool in Las Vegas gives people entry with one of those. The casino credit cards probably also work. Room keys obviously, but I wouldn't know how to get one without actually booking a room.
-Next option is to just find someone who is headed to the pool and ask if you can follow them in as their guest. Some people won't understand or won't want to break a rule, but usually not too hard to find someone to get one over on "the man".
-Just look up which ones are free (usually only with a local ID).
-A lot stop watching the entrances near the end of the day, so that is the time to just walk right in
-Might let you in if you say you just want to buy something from the bar.
-Any places still have poolside blackjack?

Lifetime Fitness, a gym by my house, does these every few hours it seems like. The reason is it's hard to see below the surface when the water is wavy. Someone can drown, sink to the bottom, and nobody will notice.
I totally agree with your complaint in general, but I can't fault them for this, except they probably don't need 30 whole minutes.

Would be a real hat trick to install said pool in a subway terminal.

Of course I do.
That doesn't mean I wish to spend money on things most places include for free
AP's on your coast seem intent on doing that.

Sometimes people sell old room keys on eBay, so as long as the hotel doesn't scan it and it's the same pattern, it would work.
You had to pay at the door to enter.
