I am a very frequent flyer, in my experience, Airline tickets are based simply on supply & demand, if the planes are fairly empty you'll be able to fly Toronto>AC for <$100 1way , if the planes are near full, you'll pay a few hundred or more if you covet a unique oceanfront gambling destination in summer.

Not saying AC can ever compete w/ Vegas, but some of us beach creatures possess a different mindset in summer- if you're one of us - you may pay more to be on the ocean-

tell me how many times you have flown out of CANADA on a Canadian Airline? $100 might cover the taxes and fees not the ticket

It's why I try to fly out of Seattle when I can....

add in the extra cost of rooms in AC during the summer and well its really expensive

agreed...I think the idea is to pull in some Canadian players with means, capable of paying the frieght or qualified at CET casinos like Windsor- to dump $ in AC casinos- I don't think it was intended to lure the avg "Jean" -Eh?

I have flown Air Canada - ridiculous fees -but don't you have to add that ridiculous cost to any ticket- incl Vegas?

(I wont set foot in the UK since they charge you like $400 taxes and fees to leave!)

The ones that are traveling to gamble are heading to LAS VEGAS ... beaches are all around the Toronto area ... to the north of there is cottage country. VERY few are heading to the beach of Atlantic City unless they own a property there.

Not many travel to Windsor either with the FALLS less than half the travel time away

OK, OK

I'm done defending the virtues of AC & A REAL OCEAN in summer- won't take this any further.

I fear for INTheKnowBob's health (i.e. dying of laughter), if I got kicked off a board I started -so we'd be able to be critical of AC -as a result of defending AC

Uncle.

Over/under 6 months in operation in AC. Over/under average paying fare per flight 13.5.

It's been tried before and failed miserably. What makes this any different. Same stupid failures over and over again. Someone's making money on these "subsidizes"g

The French Canadian tourism contributes about 13% to Cape Mays counties tourism.
I don't doubt that they can attract some of these tourists with reasonable airfare. I just wonder how many will rent a car and continue on down the Parkway to the Wildwoods. For the most part these are families and we all know how much more family friendly many other shore towns are then A.C.
Has anyone seen any French Canadians in A.C? I don't believe I have.
On the plus side maybe I can get cheap airfare to Quebec, always wanted to visit.

"Has anyone seen any French Canadians in A.C? I don't believe I have."

I hesitate to put forth the idea, based upon extensive experience in the Caribbean & elsewhere, that there is a vast difference between the fun loving nature of the gentleman(woman?) poster from Toronto, we engaged with on this thread, vs.potential French Canadian interests in our unholy "Atlantic City".

coilman? dissent -or agree?
