Actually a pitcher making a debut, with decent stuff, is hard to hit because the hitters haven't seen him. Those used to appeal to me when other items are considered. However, pitching plays just a tiny part in my algorithm.

I'm kinda thinking that Verlander got his huge contract because of his fiancée's looks. It certainly couldn't be because of his pitching ability. Also, the Tigers letting go of Scherzer was just plain old nuts. Verlander is the one who should have been gone.

Apparently the suckage in Pittsburgh is so powerful that the city is going to get pulled thru the globe and become a city in China. At least they'll probably find others who can't play baseball either.
