Palms $1000 Rebate Played

My wife was eligible and we found ourselves sans children for the night so we played the Palms $1000 slot loss rebate on Monday.

Got her signed up and asked the club booth, "any machine not marked as non-promotional, right?" He didn't say yes but instead said, "the full-pay machines are excluded." I know the Palms VP well enough to know that was a clown answer, and one of our candidate machines was 8/5 Bonus Poker which is technically full-pay, so I thanked him and decided to check again with someone else.

We settled in at a $5 5-line 9/7 Double Bonus machine with no "non-promotional" stickers anywhere in the bank. I called over a slot worker and asked, "is this machine eligible for the $1000 loss rebate promotion?" She started looking at paytables for a couple minutes then took the machine numbers down and excused herself to go check with someone who had some "updated list." About 3 minutes later she returned and said we were good to go.

Fed $1000 in and got to work. Nothing really exciting happened. A couple dealt straights were the biggest single hits. Our high point was about +$750, then it ebbed and flowed in a downward pattern until it was all gone. Things happen pretty fast at $125 a hand. I had set a soft stop at +$2500 and a hard stop at +$4000. Never got anywhere close, unfortunately.

Went to the booth and got the first $300 rebate loaded up without issue and proceeded to the 25c Full-Pay Deuces machines. Played it through exactly once and cashed it out for $330.

We managed to put about $13,500 through. Enough for a few Play-Earn-&-Win gift items but not enough for a $50 gift card so it's pretty much worthless junk. Also racked up $33 in free play that we didn't cash out.

So the end result for phase 1 was +$63, some free stuff, and $700 in bankroll tied up in pending free play for a couple months.

I'm curious to see what they send to a newbie with a Pahrump address after some pretty decent action.

"clown answer"

I found out what they mean by "full-pay machines" is machines with payback over 100 percent. When I was waiting to ask a boss the same questions you were asking, I saw a guy trying this rebate on tables. He was waiting to find out if he had lost 1,000 so he could qualify for the rebate, turns out he was up $350.

I always hate it when I win, despite my best intentions. GRRRR

Actually, The Palms has a lot of games that return < 100% and are marked non-promotional. There are some banks that have NSU as the highest-returning game and they're marked non-promo so even if you play 9/6 JoB or one of the other lesser games in the bank you're not earning promo points. You have to be pretty careful.

They have three different types of machines that I know of: Promo-eligible, Non-Promo, and Non-Promo $4 coin in per point, which I believe is only on the > 100% banks.

Well I think he might have been attempting to rathole some chips. He seemed like he was trying to do his best shocked face when he got the info that he was winning.
