Hoorah.

I am reasonably certain that no one here will actually give a rats-a$$, but as of today, I am officially a resident of Clark county. I suppose the fact that NFCU gave me three checking accounts sealed the deal. Anyone wanting to send apartment-warming gifts or manilla envelopes filled with US currency, please PM for my address.

BTW, we won't physically be moving until mid-June. Plenty of time for you folks to provide some dandy swag!

H'mmm what would be a nice housewarming gift? A set of matchbooks from Zodies, Pirhana, the Green Door and Red Rooster? A tee shirt from a PornSlapper firm?

So did you decide on a place close to the strip or close to a Locals Casino? Have you met Dotty yet? Do you plan to buy a slots parlor?

If you have just moved to Vegas good luck at the DMV. And remember to get onto the mailing list for Lee's Discount Liquors so as to be invited to his Tasting Events.

NFCU ?? Well, the CU part is probably Credit Union. NF= New Foundland ???

Enjoy your new digs!

Congrats avargov! Please keep blogging to let us know if living so close to what used to be a "resort" takes the shine off.

I did see a feature on the Food Network about a place near UNLV called "Four Kegs" which host Guy Fiere says has the best stromboli he has ever tasted. It looked good on the show.

NF = Nevada Federal?

I'm confused.

Are you looking for swag, or currency, or what?

Cause I was all ready to give you several hairballs procured from the ass of a rat....

But seriously, congrats.

Whatever your reason for moving there, best wishes for you and your family!

Geez....You ought to be ashamed of yourself using your son as an excuse to move where you can feed your addiction. And what makes you believe anyone on a forum like this one cares one iota about what a simpleton TRUCK DRIVER does anyway! Next time tell it to your lumpers.

Wow Altut, I thought for sure you would care, since all you do for 45 hours a week is answer calls from "simpleton" TRUCK DRIVERS. Maybe we can get together for lunch the next time you are in Vegas playing nickel VP, I would be more than happy to pay. I know your comp dollars are a little tight.

And to the rest of you, thanks for the congrats, hope to get to see you at the WoVCon, seems like it will be a good time!!!

My move to Vegas begins....

Well, I am sitting a in dock door at Sysco in Vegas (by the track) waiting to be unloaded. Then down to my final stop on LVB. Then taking my truck to the International dealer for some minor repairs.

Then will have an overpriced cab fare to The Orleans where I will be staying until Friday. The wife gets in at 1500 tomorrow, grabs the rental, and heads over to see her husband.

Wednesday is the 'fun' day. Signing leases, new accounts at NFCU, shopping for new furniture. Hoorah.

Don't know what is in store for Thursday yet, and back to the grind Friday. The question is: What to do tonight solo?

Risk the furniture money on some craps or BJ?

That thought has crossed my mind more than once today, however, I do like to look down at my testicles occasionally, so I do not want them angrily removed by my wife at 1515 tomorrow.

Sounds like you are having some fun.l Trust me-make relocation an adventure, explore all you can of the new city. As to solo, maybe see what kind of cheapo last-minute deal you can get on a single seat at a show you always wanted to see?

The Orlean's has a free shuttle to the Strip, and other properties. You might be able to save some cab fair by getting dropped at one of the pick-up points if it is closer.

Unfortunately, Monday is a dark night for a lot shows, but you can still find lots of ways to get into trouble. Of course the Orlean's also has a movie theatre. Check out "Sucker Punch" (from the gang that brought you "300")
