Is there now an admission charge for The Freemont Street Experience?
Some guy at a party said there was. I asked how it was even possible and mentioned how stupid the idea would be. Just want to get the confirmation one way or the other.
I agree, how would that be possible? And what a dumb idea if it were true.
The only way it would be a high enough fee to make it profitable would be for New Year's Eve.

Thanks.
Maybe that is what he was thinking about. The guy was about a 90% sharp, meaning he knew the basics but when I talked a few really advanced things he didn't even get the reasoning.
ways to enter the thing.
No, public relations and logistical nightmare ... I do however believe there is a surcharge on the businesses that border the area and they pay for the FSE on the theory that businesses in the area benefit from it.Quote: AZDuffmanIs there now an admission charge for The Freemont Street Experience?
Is everyone paying their share now? I recall hearing that there had been some persistent delinquencies on paying the fees.Quote: FleaStiff... I do however believe there is a surcharge on the businesses that border the area and they pay for the FSE ....
Also, I'm not sure that all of the businesses bordering the area are involved in the support. The Viva Vision screen displays the sponsors' names. I don't know whether there is separate sponsorship/fees for Viva Vision and the other elements of the FSE.

Oh man, I heard about this a while back. Penn and Teller have done some great work raising DHMO awareness and pushing for a ban. Aparently DHMO is yet another issue they are dealing with at Lake Las Vegas too.

I've heard they have a big accumulation of it there.

I'm curious about the logistics of this since it is basically an open atrium. Do they set up "cattle barricades" down the center, and charge to get in to that area, or is the entire covered area sealed off somehow? If so, how is that accomplished since folks would then be "trapped" in the casino, and not able to cross Fremont.
There IS a charge for the FSE zip line ride.
Quote: conoThe admission fee seems to be one cigarette. I know every time I am there, I get hit up for this fee. The fee collectors are generally a scraggly looking bunch. So even if you don't smoke carry a pack with you when visiting Freemont street.
Thank you for making my evening.

Isn't DHMO a key component in acid rain?
And wasn't there some attempt to get all of the DHMO out of Lake Tahoe about 20 years ago? (It certainly looked like somebody, or something, was trying this.)
