I specifically requested a paper check from my employer so I could get the check cashing bonuses at casinos.

You gotta love teddy! When I was at the Orleans a few years back there was a LONG LINE to cash paychecks. I believe they were giving out some form of free slot play.

People still can get paper checks? ;) Where I work, as of 6 months ago, its either direct deposit or a debit card thingy. Which is good for me. No one waiting till midnight to pick up their checks, and getting mad that I cant get them this instant because we are busy.
F*CK STATIONS!

I DESERVE FREE STUFF!!!
Is your entire paycheck remitted in paper form? The only way my bank account is free is if i maintain a direct deposit into the checking account, or I'd probably look at doing this too:-)

You must have drawn the low prize on the spin or something. I know nothing about the check cashing bonuses, but I do know enough to stay away from stations (or not cashout) on a friday as the line is an hour long. I can't imagine people are standing in that line for $1 worth of points. The average prize must be better than what you received.
I do know that Longhorn on Boulder highway has a sign right out front that you get up to $20 matchplay when cashing your paycheck. Also El Cortez, used to advertise that they gave 5% in free play bonus up to $50. Don't know if that is still alive or not.
It's not that I deserve free stuff (although I do :) ), but it is just ridiculous to have $1.00 as a prize on the wheel. You are apt to piss more people off than keep them coming back to cash their check. They also give out a free drink coupon with every cash -- the drink coupon is worth more than $1.00!Quote: bigfoot66I DESERVE FREE STUFF!!!
Think I will try El Cortez next time. 5% sounds pretty good to me.
Quote: AhighMaybe you could have them print up ten paychecks for you each pay period.
Just occurred to me -- could a self-employed person print a large number of paychecks to him/herself and collect bonuses from the casinos? (Without gambling with anything more than the bonus money, of course.)

Just giving you a hard time. But, in my experience, you can't go wrong with much at the ElCo, unless you are trying to impress a woman by taking her there...
People there are so quiet when they play craps that it is just plain disturbing and not fun for me.
Perhaps we need Cosmic Craps instead of Cosmic Blackjack :

I don't think they put the thing in as a money maker, but more as a gimmick to get people to cash their paycheck there. I always tell the employee that if the $10,000 prize hits they get 1/2 (which I would honor if it hit). But I do direct deposit because it is much easier (and my job now only offers DD or rape-card). I think those pay cards should be illegal, you should not have to pay fees to access your own money especially since they are usually from no-name banks.
