At the Casino where I work we have a rule on UTH that when determining the value of your hand you must use both your hole cards and any 3 community cards. My question is what effect would this have on the odds of the normal game if any (the house must also use both hole cards and any 3 community cards).
As I understand it this would also give the trips bet an incredibly high house edge (we use pay table 3 from the wizards site).

It would sure rip the strategies we see out there to shreds, as clearly the chances of tying with the same community hand has been factored in.
Since the dealer also has the same restriction, you might figure it equals out. I don't think so, though. The game differs from regular poker in that you are never calling a raise for one thing. Folding has a strange feel to it as well, as the final chance to bet doesn't seem to need that great of a chance to win or tie, while the fold wipes you out [and nobody raised]. Since you would be folding more with less chances to tie, I think the house gets a better edge with your rule.

This sounds like one of the crazy card room variants, is that true? It is like on their 3 CP, the pair plus bet is known only as "bonus"

No all the other games have completely normal rules except for UTH. Rumor among dealers at the casino has it that the management simply misinterpreted the rules.

I would think that would be it. For a casino to install a licensed game, and make such a major alteration to the rules, makes me think there is not proper. I don't know the insides of how these things work, but I imagine Shuffle Master has a set way this game must be played and they are not following it. This is more like "Ultimate Two Card Omaha".
