I have just returned from a great week in vegas where I was rated at MGM casinos as $48 for 41 hours playing mostly bj, pai gow poker and craps.
I wasn't staying at one of their hotels so I asked a host about whether I might get some offers for future trips. He said yeah no problem.
I've not heard anything after 2 weeks and was thinking of booking for oct or dec.
My main question is were they just humouring me or would they be serious about giving a free room to a self proclaimed medium roller like me?
I play basic strategy, usually flat bet one or two hands, tip generously and come from the uk. Will any of these be a factor or is it decided purely by how you are rated?

You've got nothing to lose by contacting a host.

It would probably take longer than two weeks for the automated offers to start. I would guess they are processed and sent out once a month.

Yes, it often takes a while to get your first offer. They may only do mailings in large batches.
Please do follow up with what offer(s) you get!

I've not seen that MGM is marketing to people in the UK via mail, but it's been a while since I've lived there, or my buddy who gets the big attention has done enough in an MGM property. They have done via email. I still get some offers from Monte Carlo and Mandalay bay via email, which I suspect are the bare minimum teasers to the shrimps like me. I'd call the host in a week or two.

I don't even know if they send international mailings or, if sent, they reliably get through.
I'd think you should select what you think your most desired casinos would be and if you've already spoken to that host I assume you have his card and consider him your host so start out by contacting him. I think email would probably be best anyway. Alot of this stuff is done via marketing department computers so it may take some initial processing time for your rated play to have made it through the various digital hoops.
If you have a more desirable casino than the one you were in when you spoke to that host, you could still contact any other place that appeals to you.
Good luck. They won't be considering you a whale, but thats okay. Particularly these days they are focusing on mid-rollers.

I've had some to Canada from Boyd and Harrahs (and some small places in Washington State as well).
Before Mandalay merged with MGM, they would send stuff by mail to the UK.
