So Australia has a set for life draw where you can win $20,000 AUD a month for 20 years.

You need to pick 8 numbers (called a set) from a total of 37 numbers and match all 8 numbers from the 10 numbers that are drawn to win division one. A draw takes place every day. Each entry/set that you pay for is for a total of 7 draws before you have to purchase more tickets.

My maths question is what are the odds of winning division one for each additional set that you purchase? The tattslotto website states for 1 set the odds are 38,608,020:1.

Thankyou in advance for any help with this!

I wanted to win a 2nd chance Powerball promo to win a cruise with KENNY LOGGINS performing.

I don't think I did.

Clarification: while 10 numbers are drawn, 2 are "bonus numbers"; you need to match the 8 "regular" numbers drawn in order to win.
Also note that the listed odds are for one draw.

That being said, for all intents and purposes, if you buy N sets, you have a 7N / 38,608,020 chance of winning at least one Division 1 prize. It's not exact because you have to take into account the possibility that a particular set can win more than once. Of course, this assumes that no two sets have the same eight numbers.
