Dear Wizard Sir,

Hi Sir, I like your site very much! It has helped me a lot!!! Thank you very very much!!! Appreciate It. Please Keep it UP!!! : )

Now I have a question regarding the House Edge of this Baccarat Variant which is played in Skycity Casino Auckland New Zealand with the minimum bet NZ$10:

What is the House Edge under this Baccarat Rule:

1. If Banker wins it pays 1 to 1 unless Banker wins with the value of 6 which pays half. However, it pays 2 to 1 if Banker's three cards' total value adds up to 8/9 and it must has been dealt three cards that natural 8/9 cannot be paid 2 to 1 like that.

2. If Player wins it of course pays 1 to 1 normally unless like Banker's side with three cards total value 8/9 which pays also 2 to 1.

3. If it's a Tie Hand then both Banker and Player lose.

That's it. I appreciate your answer. Thank you very much!!!

Best Wishes

Here you go. Hope I understood the rules correctly. That rule about losing on ties costs way more than the benefit of the extra win on a 3-card 8 or 9.

Banker bet

Event Pays Combinations Probability Return
Banker 3-card winning 8 or 9 2 304,079,683,551,232 0.060835 0.121671
Banker winning 6 0.5 269,232,304,455,680 0.053864 0.026932
All other Banker wins 1 1,718,940,578,430,980 0.343898 0.343898
Player win or tie -1 2,706,145,709,065,470 0.541403 -0.541403
Total 4,998,398,275,503,360 1.000000 -0.048902

Player bet

Event Pays Combinations Probability Return
Player 3-card winning 8 or 9 2 356,212,163,551,232 0.071265 0.142531
All other Player wins 1 1,874,306,119,041,020 0.374981 0.374981
Banker win or tie -1 2,767,879,992,911,100 0.553753 -0.553753
Total 4,998,398,275,503,360 1.000000 -0.036242

Does this version of baccarat have a particular name?
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

Dear Wizard Sir,

Hi Sir, the game is called "2 to 1 Baccarat" which is played in Skycity Auckland Casino in New Zealand.

I'm so sorry about the delay since i have been banned from that casino for 2 years and it's my mum who has the access into the casino. Again sorry about the time waiting.

Best Wishes
