Wizard,
Most of my local cardrooms have a 5% rake ($5max), and a $1 drop for the bad beat jackpot, and now two poker rooms are charging $2 for the bbj, which is obscene. That's a whole lot of money disappearing off of the table every hour, maybe too much for the game to be beatable. I was looking online for a comparison chart for the cost of playing these games, but found nothing. It'd be great if your site had a chart (or calculator) similar to what you have for video poker, where you could compare the cost of playing, time collection vs rake and so on.
Thanks,
CD

$5 rake and $2 drop = don't play there. Personally I hate jackpot drops. That's why I like Venetian.

5% is great. Personally, I wouldn't mind the $5 max for a 5% rake.
In AC and CT it's 10% with a $4 max.
The BB drop is another story. $2 is a bit too much.
In AC and CT it's $1 when the pot is $20.
On the other hand, how high does the pot have to be to have the BB drop taken out? Typically, BB hands, as well as potential qualifiers, tend to have big pots anyway, so if the BB drop isn't until the pot is $40, then $2 isn't too bad.
Of course, both the $5 max and $2 drop might be advantageous because of the 5% rake, so less is taken out of the more frequent small pots.

As Emily Latella often said, "Oh. That's very different. Never mind."Quote: carddownI meant 10% rake
I.E. That sucks. Avoid it!
BTW: I've seen 10% rakes in Vegas from $2 to $4. If they have a jackpot drop, I've always seen $1 with a $20 pot.
