Curious what people's mean/mode is? (for calculation purposes, I'm counting the days that I didn't get a word as a 7)
Mine is 4.458 (mean) and 5 (mode - although very close to 4).
Have to say I'm disappointed. I thought I knew "words" better.

When I cleared my cache/cookies, I lost my record of scores. I suppose I could track them down on this thread, but they are nothing that would impress anyone.
My average score is probably in the 4.1 to 4.2 range. The mode is definitely four. I've not got it in six twice and have a two twice, I believe. I almost didn't make it on the board today.

I tried this for the first time ever, today's puzzle. I put in three words that resulted in only one consonant's turning yellow, then solved it on the fourth line. Was more about what wasn't there than what was.
