the next time Dame Fortune toys with your heart, your soul and your wallet, raise your glass and praise her thus: “Thanks for nothing, you cold-hearted, evil, damnable, nefarious, low-life, malicious monster from Hell!”   She is, after all, stone deaf. ... Arnold Snyder

In case you need a reminder -- today is 3/14, which is a poor approximation to "pi day."

This is the best approximation of my lifetime, it happened in 2015: 3.141592653

Question -- which date and time in the last 2022 years gave the best approximation to pi?

An interesting answer to how many digits of Pi that NASA uses. If I had to guess, I would have thought more!

What is the area of a 14 inch pizza?
153.86 square inches
The surface area of a 14-inch pizza is 3.14 x 49 (7 x 7 = 49) = 153.86 square inches of surface area.

So, should I get two 12" mediums for $12.99 each or a 16" large for $18.99?
3.14 x 36 = 113" x 2 = 226 sq"
3.14 x 64 = 201 sq"

It depends if I'm going to eat more than 201 sq".

Is the width of the crust-ring-handle the same in all sizes?
You may wish to recalculate to keep the crust-core-dollar ratios more favorable.
May the cards fall in your favor.

Nowadays I just get frozen pizza and look at the ounces and try to keep it at 24 or less, but I can't seem to escape the 30 oz boxes.

Most of the rest of the world celebrates on 22 July.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.

One of my best friends in high school was born 3-14-60. I was there for many of his birthdays, including his 18th and 21st. I don't think Pi Day was a thing back then.
To all who celebrate- enjoy!
