And now, in the category Post Grunge, name that song...

If I go crazy, then will you still call me Superman?
If I'm alive and well, will you be there and holding my hand?
I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might

Featured in several TV shows such as Roswell and Cold Case, the film Kick-Ass, and also in both the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series of video games.

Kryptonite, by Three-somethingsomething; I'm stuck somewhere between The Doors and Third Eye Blind. And for some reason, the music video for it always follows Whiskey in the Jar for me. The High Kings version, not the Metallica one, which makes absolutely no sense.

Winner! Winner! Super Chicken Dinner!!

This song, by 3 Doors Down, was released twenty years ago... Twenty years. The reason I point this out is that it's the most recent rock song I can think of offhand that gets regular play on rock radio. How far has rock music fallen from its heyday? Scan the Billboard Hot 100 chart for guitar bands. Good luck with that. When was the last time you heard of a rock band playing a stadium venue? Rock awards aren't even televised anymore for the Grammys. Times change, and "Kryptonite" is arguably the rock genre's last culturally relevant release.

-------------------------------------

And now, in the category 60's Pop, name that song...

I should have known you'd bid me farewell
There's a lesson to be learned from this and I learned it very well
Now I know you're not the only starfish in the sea
If I never hear your name again, it's all the same to me
Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.

Winner! Winner! Chicken crossing the road for dinner!!

The lyrics for the classic drinking song "One For My Baby" were written by Johnny Mercer and inspired by his affair with Judy Garland. Many artists covered it but Sinatra is considered to own the song and has the definitive version. Originally though, it was written for Fred Astaire to sing in the 1943 film The Sky's the Limit. In this version, Astaire sings, drinks, dances (naturally), and then thrashes the bar he's in.

And the definitive 1958 Sinatra recording...

And now, in the category 70's Rock, name that song...

So this ain't the end, I saw you again, today
I had to turn my heart away
Smiled like the sun, kisses for everyone
And tales, it never fails
You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.

I canít play, I looked it up. I should have known it. But I couldnít put the cadence and the lyric together. Great song though.
