I was in Chicago in February, and played at the Hammond Horseshoe casino. When I returned home to NC, I found $215 in chips in a jacket pocket I never redeemed. I was in Tunica this past weekend, and the Horseshoe there wouldn't redeem out-of-state chips, but suggested the Hammond would do it by mail. I called the casino today, and they won't redeem the chips by mail. I never actually spoke to a cage supervisor - I ended up calling Casino Credit, who went over and asked the supervisor for me. I was told it has to be in person (I forgot to tell them it was only $215).
I don't have any plans to return to the area any time soon ... if ever ...
Any suggestions on a solution? Right now I'm thinking of trying to sell the chips on the Chicago-area craigslist site for some discount, assuming it should be pretty easy for anyone of age to redeem the chips in the casino.

Maybe posting this type of thread on several of the Vegas fan sites would help...the one I frequent (Vegas Message Board) has a lot of people all over the country; maybe you could hook up with someone who frequents the casinos in that area.
I see chips advertised on e-bay for collectors...not sure if that is a viable route.

Someone in the Chicago area should respond to this and offer to buy the poor guy out!

I'll be in Chicago gambling at the end of May. I'll buy your chips for face value less the cost of getting them to me (in MN).
