EvenBob is going to hate these new ones, but here is what the artists came up with. I think between me and the actual artist in the Philippines the instructions got passed through a few different people and languages. Still, I'm sure he put a lot of work into them. These are shrunken down jpg versions. The original PNG files are really impressive.
So, which do you like better? Feel free to say in the comments if you like one of the first 8 better, but for the poll these are the only choices.
Thanks.

As most of you know, I did the modifications to come up with the banners in the original poll.
The key word is "modifications." That's more my speed. I couldn't come up with anything near this quality if I tried.
Part of the reason Mike asked me to do it is because I had done some other work for him, and, most importantly, Mike believed the original artist was unavailable, or didn't have the original art to work off, or something along those lines.
For what it's worth, I have no ill feelings that none of my banners got used. Hell, after seeing these, I'd be inclined to slap Mike upside the head if he chose to use one of mine.
The guy who did these is an artist. Dare I say, a friggin' artiste.

That out of the way, here's my opinions. They BOTH look GREAT!
That is a fantastic looking Emerald City, and nothing like what is seen in other artwork. I.E. It's obviously the Emerald City, while also being a completely new version. I also like that it's too big to fit in the space provided. Helps give the illusion of enormity.
The rainbow in #1 is more like a ribbon, and makes me think more of a Saturday morning cartoon hero's costume than a rainbow. On the other hand, it's striking and active, while the rainbow in #2 is subdued and passive.
I like the little flags on top of the chip stacks. That, and the different ways they lean, helps make it look more like a city than a stack of chips or histogram. The translucent dice in front are an excellent touch.
However, the Yellow Brick Road is almost lost on #2. You have to look REAL close realize that there is a second section on the right side, but it's unclear where it's leading. You can't see it leading to the door in #1 either, but at least it's heading in that direction, and there IS a door.
There's something going on within the letters on #2. I can't really figure out what it is supposed to be, but I'm thinking gold coins. But it also reminds me of yellow bubble wrap.
That said, I'm at a loss which one to vote for.

Congratulations on both new banners. I really like both, but I think that #2 would fit and match the website layout better.

Neither. too gaudy. I voted 'I am Jerry Logan'.

Thanks everyone, even EvenBob. Banner 2 won and is up there now. There should be a version for this site sometime next week.
